Hawaii's Most Haunted: Morgan's Corner and Judd Trail

I remember back in 1986 I used to take my moms car (without her knowing) to go cruising with my friends (neighbors). My usual crew couldn't come out that night but my chinese neighbors (2 brothers) were willing to go with me. I shot straight to tantalus from makiki side then down through paoa and up nuuanu. Nearing the end of the old Pali road I stopped when I saw something laying in the middle of the road, I crept up slowly and as we got about 10 ft with the highbeams on I could clearly see it was human body but as crazy as this sounds I have 2 witnesses who saw it with me...it didn't have clothes on and was covered with long reddish hair all over its body laying with its back facing us as if it collapsed there. My eyes focused on the area just above the hip and saw it was breathing. At that time with no internet etc I wasn't thinking about a sasquatch, first thing came to mind was the swamp thing from comics lol. My hearts was racing as I had to make a decision and floored the pedal and drove past it and went straight home. My thoughts was it might be a trick if I get out to help and get ambushed or it stands up, I didn't wanna turn back around because that'll take time to turning the car around and it might get up and attack in the process. Anyways I got in trouble the next morning, my mom found out I took the car because I parked in the wrong stall 🤣🤣🤣

i was debating whether or not to write this but here goes... nearly 30 years ago, in despair over a pending divorce, i left my home in kailua intending to end it all in my car and what better place than nuuanu drive. i approached that corner with the leaning banyan just after midnight at nearly 80 mph on a wet road. just prior to the tree the car hooked up like it was on rails and with no input from me sailed around it like a race car and when it straightened out the engine went into limp mode and speed dropped off to a crawl. god can be an ass sometimes. i went home.

These are great Lopaka. Many of these stories I've heard on your tours over the years and though there is no substitute for the power of the storytelling in the physical place, you are really using this medium to good effect. I love the backdrops and how you incorporate historical clippings to flesh out and lend credence to the stories. The real events are sometimes the most frightening and do that dance with the urban legends in the mind and memory of the public. Mahalo, this will make a great archive one day.

When i use to work at Kbay commissary. My boss along with other co-workers would take that road to Morgan’s Corner and stop on side just to play Glen Grant cassette tape on Obake files. That creep me out every time they did that. Hopefully Lopaka do Waimea Valley next, that urban legend of Waimea waterfall of that sailor jumping in the waterfall and never resurface. 2 of there friends camp out overnight and they would here someone getting out of water. That gives me chicken skins everytime I hear that story. 😱😱😱😱😱

Went to a gathering visiting Oahu… I was pretty intoxicated… almost falling over I grabbed a tree but my ankle still twisted… I was informed that was Morgan’s Corner… and the tree I grabbed was the tree the woman hung herself from…

We always cruised Morgan’s Corner at night to see if anything would happen or if we might see something weird. We never got lucky Loved it though!
