They should have an area for pond plants. They’re already in a pot. It just grabs them and throw them in your pond. They will eventually die in the fall, but they will come back each and every spring and summer getting bigger and more beautiful each year, you can also get a couple of floating plants water lettuce that will float on the top probably tea munch on it, but it will grow very well.

Of course yes, I think I spent $2600 on this pond and that was like $800 for the liner and $800 for the filter, plus the foam, sealant, river stone and pump. A great thing is 6 inches of pea gravel in the bottom as it helps with good bacteria and helps to keep the pond clean & clear it also protects with the temperature swings. It would help with the algae problem. Can't stress enough how much that would benefit your pond and takes a lot of the load off your filter. Hope you can do that. The benefits of the gravel bed more than offsets the cost. A worse nightmare would've been had you had fish.

At this stage with the tail feather gone it will be voice to tell the drakes You could use temporary bands so you know who you have grabbed to check or keep them locked in the run one morning and every one you check you can let out My guess on the leak was your ducks caused it If one was swimming in the filter and caused water to spill they would dig in the wet dirt for bugs Adding some rocks all around that filter area will prevent them digging and your stumps can help to hold the liner up in place Adding in some snails may also help with algae issues The bubblers are a great idea as it keeps the water moving when the birds are not inside swimming Overall great job as that pond looks great and your birds love it

hydro dynamics explains why you have no sludge on the bottom. As long as you're circulating THAT much water in that small a volume, the sediment is just circulating as it breaks down. Which is why you have very green water. The algae loves the fertilizer like any other plant. Also, scrounge up some flat stone or flag stone from a quarry or supplier, and replace those round rocks in the water fall chute. It will give you a cleaner fall and will do a better job of deflecting without creating a barrier. And leave those kids alone, if you dont want to see the natural job of propegation, get rid of ALL the drakes. She is receptice or she would'nt be getting mated so frequently. She knows when she is most fertile, just like every other species of livestock on the farm. As she gets older, she will be less receptive and she will actually snap back. And the bubblers are really redundant Chad, you have a natural aerator with the waterfall. Anny movement of that water and exposing it to the atmosphere is aeration. Since the pump takes it all from the bottom, you're already doing a fantastic job oxygenating.
