Join us as we celebrate the Easter! See Robert's concert with Finnish Baroque Orchestra and step into an ancient, mysterious celebration with us in Helsinki as we take you to to visit our Easter traditions. We also teach you how to make delicious Pasha and see what kind of treasures we find to decorate the celebration. You will be lead through the video with some gorgeous music.
(Notice that Finnish Orthodox Church is an autonomous Eastern Orthodox archdiocese of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. It has NO ties to Russian Orthodox Church anymore!)

That was both beautiful and deeply moving. Thank you for sharing both the concert and your Easter traditions with us. I think it was wonderful that you got to continue the tradition of decorating eggs with your God-daughter... yet in a modern way, too. Somehow, that is even more important. Traditions also evolve. If they don't they may fade away when they no longer are relevant to our lives, which is sad.

The Orthodox Christian Church of Finland has so many beautiful traditions. My family is Evangelical Lutheran but my mother made pasha each Easter, too.

Thanks Shirley. Quark is like a very thick natural yoghurt, made from warming sour milk until it curdles, you then strain it. (tastes better than it sounds haha) Its somehow similar to the French fromage blanc.

Lovely traditions! The Pasha receipy was quite interesting! Love Bach's Matthew Passion, nice to hear Robert playing the recorder! Your easter egg collection is amazing. As a Greek, though I am Catholic I come from an Orthodox backround, it was nice to see you celebrating an Eastern Rite Mass. I had the impression that Robert as an Irish might be a Roman Catholic and you a Protestant. Thanks for sharing.

Yes the egg decorating is very big here. What are the big traditions in France for Easter?

@@charenteliving it will be the chocolate eggs, chicken, bunny... now you can find so many shapes. That you hide into the garden and then kids have to hunt them. In Alsace they do more outdoor decorations like in Germany and est countries.
