So much hope this past summer, and now as winter approaches here in Michigan, I've found myself in a very dark state of mind. Your beautiful video made me think that perhaps it could be best to embrace melancholy as you did, with beauty, accepting the inevitable, finding peace in acceptance. I was a painter, but haven't touched my paints in years, the same canvas on the easel. I need to get back to it, somehow. It might not be pretty, but it might help. Thank-you, both, for such a moving video. I'll be watching it again.

Votre vidéo sur la campagne charentaise est très jolie, et les couchers de soleil apportent une certaine nostalgie sur ce qu'ils touchent. La musique était parfaite pour cette saison d'automne. Merci.

Day dead bye-gone Laying near the lights… A beautiful, soothing accompaniment to the seasonal darkening of the countryside. Thanks for always bringing us an artistic impression of your lives in Charente. ❤

Hola from Ecuador! We don’t have the changes of the seasons as you do in the Northern Hemisphere, so it’s always nice to see the transitions - especially in the autumn. Beautiful colors.

It's funny, I've been playing a lot of Debussy lately. Lovely video. l'll actually be in your area next week, so I'll be able to see the countryside there too. It is a beautiful area.

@RonRobertson-lafranceАй бұрын
@@mlomarechal6877 Ah oui, j'avais oublié qu'il était né à Angoulême !
@mlomarechal6877Ай бұрын

Great video, I just saw this on the playlist. I did a video about Rouillac this summer for my channel and unfortunately missed the Foire du 27, but the rest of the history of the town is interesting! I enjoy your channel as we are in the same area covering different things : kzbin.info/www/bejne/mneyi4GXebaSb6s

Hi Robert & Jyrki, I watched this vlog again after a long time to see you playing flute. I am a music teacher here in Australia (cello major) and am curious to the head joint on your flute. To me, it seems longer than the usual head joint? What is it made from, and does it differ in length? Who is the pianist out of you two? I retire in mid 2026 and plan to move to France, but will roam full time in a motorhome. My visa doesn't allow me to earn money in France, but I intend (for the fun of it) do some playing/busking on my violin, but that will have to be outside of France. Kind regards, Stuart

Perhaps the fairies in Ireland take on the appearance of foxes! There is the risk of disease from blackberries picked below knee height as this is where foxes pee.

The last winter and spring were indeed extremely rainy, not only in Charente but in all of France, here in Charente Maritime as well. Spring and summer were not very nice either and September is very ugly compared to other years. Let's hope that the winter will be less rainy! Thank you for this lovely report on your peaceful life among us. Well done for decorating the house that suits you. See you soon!

Hey guys, thanks for the video. Looks like everything is still going well and I like that it's all slowed down now. That being said, I have a question. It never occurred to me before, but I'm wondering what do you do for transportation when you're there? Do you rent a car for the entire time?
