With such a steady exhaust? It's not a meteor and its not a satellite. Most ET craft do not have any type of propulsion flames no exhaust at all, but not all of them. Space junk? But where's the color in the exhaust? All the same its very cool.

@@stefanschleps8758 It's not exhaust. It's a plasma trail caused by friction heating with the Earth's atmosphere at high entry speeds. The lack of colour is due to the night vision mode of the camera. Take a peek at the channel's other vids and you'll see why.

We saw it too about the same time moving very fast across the sky above the Namib desert near Namib Desert Camp. A short while after this meteor, at 4.27 am, we saw a most unusual line of 20 lights, in a sraight line looking rather like those of a railway carriage, moving in a similar trajectory to the meteor. It had no tail, and no flashing lights. The sequence of the lights from left to right was six in the first group, two spaces, single, two spaces, two, space, three, space, one, space, one, three spaces, one, two spaces, three, two spaces, one, space, one. Did anyone else see this? We have two images taken with a Sony RX10 camera and was witnessed by five of us!

Starlink
@astrogeo16 ай бұрын
From the description by @paulapitman this points very strongly to being the 2nd stage of a SpaceX Falcon9 rocket carrying another batch of Starlink Internet satellites. As is the fact, the first stage lands in the sea or on the launch pad, while 2nd stage is expendable and burns up in the atmosphere. Would surprise me if this is not a SpaceX Starlink launch. It is way to slow for a meteor.

I was able to scroll back on the livestream of this camera and at 5:28 am I saw a slow and steady moving object going across the sky! I made a screen recording of it. It's kinda faint tho.
@paulapitman77696 ай бұрын
Sounds like you are conflating the two strange things in the sky which were separate in time. The “meteor” was followed about 12 minutes later by the “train carriage” lights we observed. All the lights of this latter object were on and of the same intensity. You may well be correct about Elon Musk being behind this one!
@CheshireSmile336 ай бұрын
@paulapitman7769 what I saw at the 5:27/5:28 am timestamp on the camera looks like a collection of steady dots moving into the distance. It's not that bright only because it's the livestream cam so I cant zoom in on it. But I used your information of 5:27 am to find it which was pretty exciting.
