Played the original Polish version once on a road trip with strangers. It was really fun! It's not always going to be my style, but with new people and and a lighter experience, it's a really fantastic option :) Thanks for the video, I'm sore tempted to see if my family would enjoy it.

This was a great play through. The only comment that confused me was at the end he said he didn’t want to use the ticket token and lose the fire card. The rule states that when you’re playing your ticket token you can discard and redraw SOME or all of the vision cards. Thanks again!

Yeah I was mistaken, for some reason I thought the rule was you have to discard your entire hand.

I wouldn’t mind owning this for its extra cards and 2-3 player setup but I definitely love Mysterium ! The big setup brings out the theme and the final moment where everyone votes secretly is so intense you have everyone cheering when you win! I also love that there’s a murder weapon in Mysterium. Thanx for another great video 🙌🏽

Oh and I think this looks much better than the original Mysterium. Just it seems much more streamlined, less fiddly and easier to set up. It looks more like Codenames than the old Mysterium in a way.

A note on flushing cards: at least in the german version you get to decide how many of the 7 cards in hand you want to switch out. It doesn’t have to be your whole hand (and always immediately draw back up to 7)

Ahh I think we may have overlooked that rule, that definitely makes it helpful when you have that 1 or 2 perfect cards but don't want to lose them.

Wow, thank you so much for this! I found the original Mysterium fell flat at 2P and was too fiddly as well. This seems much more streamlined and more engaging at 2P. Can the original Mysterium cards be traded out for variety or must one stick with the carnival theme? LOL at Naveen's faces at the camera, tho!!

Great video! This might be divisive, but would love to see how each of you would rate it on a scale (ex. 1-10, bad/mediocre/good, etc.) TIP: If you add 00:00 time to your "JUMP", YT would automagically add easy skipping points to the scrubber. Really helps out when one is viewing on a mobile.

At 29:10 you talk about BGG's "best at" ranking. I checked the vote and its based on only 2 voters, so not such significant data as you said. :D I would imagine that having more players in this helps building a story and making it more interesting. After all, it is a light game for groups. I like the fact that if you have Dixit (or any expansions) or the original Mysterium, you can use the cards to expand the game!

Got this as a Birthday gift and we all tried to play it. It was a bit tricky to understand the instrucvtions even with a high I.Q. Read the instructions multiple times but we were stuck on a few areas of game play. The mysterious instructions have been revealed because of your digital. Thanks guys!

Thanks for the video. I've just received my box, but annoyingly the rule book is in Spanish! Notice that your video differs in the one by 'Watch it played' regarding the ghost using tickets to flush hand and swap out cards, so wondering if you could confirm whether it should be the full hand or pick which ones to discard?

Hi there, it was an oversight on our part. Rodney's video is definitely the correct way. You get to choose which cards you want to flush. Hope that helps!

Really great to see you explain and play this. We really love Mysterium, but it takes time to set up and is sometimes too fiddly. We play at three people normally, with one ghost (of course) and the other two players playing with two investigators each. I guess this new version might be more streamlined and could thus come to the table more often. I was just wondering if you have to replace all your 7 vision cards when you use the ticket, as you imply at the end. Because in the original game, you can use the ravens to replace any number of cards you like, so you can keep the ones that already suit well.

Preordered this yesterday. A couple of questions: 1) Seems like it might be more interesting to play without the witness. Did you feel it made the game too easy? 2) What do you think of a variant where the ghost is limited to giving only one card as a clue per turn (per investigator)? Am hoping to get this to the table over Thanksgiving. (P.S. Good job on the faces, Naveen. Very entertaining!😂)

Hi James, in our plays we didn't find the witness to overpowering, more of a hedge on a guess. 1 card per investigator might be tough but pretty fun! Monique and I played 2 games where we straight up lost. Hope you enjoy your plays with the family! It's definitely a game suited for that player discussion :)

Hey guys. I have a qn, after a few plays, won't the players be familiar with the cards? For example, the first two cards is for this certain characters so everytime you are given those cards, you know it's for this particular character. Am i right to say this is the case?

If I didn't already own Mysterium, I'd probably buy this one over it, just because of the significantly shorter setup/tear down. It is shorter, which is both good and bad. Its not a game that is hard to get to the table, so a longer game means you can make it more of an experience. But of course, shorter games naturally do get more play and people stay more engaged throughout. I do like getting rid of the voting mechanism, which I feel makes the original more cumbersome.

Designed to be easier than the original Mysterium and only features the suspects and locations, but no weapons. Still difficult to win

I find the locations are significantly harder than the original, with a lot of thematic and visual overlap (the main gate, and the entrance ticket booth for example with a big “enter” sign), or with very few distinctive features and lots of repeated string lights. I’m going to keep trying with my group but I have never failed to get players into the final round of mysterium, but had two fail on locations in MP on our first go.

This game should not be advertised as a 2 player game. As the ghost needs to be silent, the game just draaaags and draaaags while the poor investigator tries to guess. Awful game :(
