I stare pretty hard at the cards behind the board in the regular game to give the best clues I can; I feel like people would figure out their character/location in this game just because I'd be staring at the cards on the table for so long, lol.

Recipe for a great game : Take 1 ounce of Artwork = Mystery case files madam fate 2 ounces of Brand = Mysterium Mix it with lots of different Mechanic = Codenames + Dixit + Cluedo And what do you get....boom It's mysterium park

Thanks for the review. This looks very interesting. I really liked Mysterium but as the ghost player i felt more like a board manager ... especially with a lot of players ... I will give this a try ... though i "miss" the kinda creepy artwork on the motive cards ..

Good that you answered my doubt about mixing the original and dixit, and yes you are right what is important on those cases is the intent of the phantom when giving you the strange drawing card not the source set, OK thanks for the review it is great

I heard this one is a lot harder because of the unified circus theme which makes the suspects / locations more similar to one another (as opposed the variety the original game allows by not tying said suspects / locations together with a cohesive theme such as the circus). Do you find that to be the case at all? I'm considering trading out my original for this smaller one, mainly due to the streamlined setup and shorter playtime, but this concern is my only hangup. Thank you!!

Excellent review. I’ve never played Mysterium, but definitely interested. Do you recommend for 4 players or do you need 5 or 6?

It worked fine at 4 as the number of cards in total doesn't change, it just might make the game harder as there are more red herrings and less players eliminating them. With 2-3 players it suggests playing two psychics at a time.

Hi Luke. Great review as always. How does it work with two players? Is it similar to the original game?

I believe so. Here you basically get told to play two psychics, so it's like playing a 3 player game effectively. Or just play as multiple psychics. It's flexible.

Perhaps I missed it, but does the game still include the intuition, I think it's called that, token (agree or disagree with others for points to see more cards in final round) mechanic? That is one of parts of Mysterium that I didn't like and am hoping they've done away with them here.

Eliminating people and places that aren't relevant is a weird change. Why? I think you could still play it as your giving clues the killer and location.

Went ahead and purchased this, I could not resist the beautiful art and components. What if for difficulty there could be a house rule to reduce the number of rounds from 6 to 5 or 4? Also I don't believe these are just weird art cards, I think every object, color and shape is carefully calculated to mix and match the character and location cards.

Why can't you sleeve the cards? I did catch that being mentioned and can not picture a reason. I mean... I do have the original Mysterium sleeved without issue.

Oh... that is a bummer. Hopefully the unsleeved cards shuffle better than the matte finish of the original game then. I sleeved Mysterium mainly as the cards would “stick” together
