If there is ever a movie made from one of these, I'm gonna need the main character to be portrayed entirely as an obsessive kleptomaniac that just stuffs random objects into their pockets constantly and stumbles across the reasons to use them in the most random scenarios and everyone else around them just staring like 'Why in the hell did you have four bottles of acid, a screwdriver, and 30 puzzle pieces in your pocket?' Oh man, I forgot how much I missed these!! Also, Chunk-Change??? I've never heard that before... I thought it was chump change?? As for the phrase "Space Cadet" it's what a lot of teachers/parents would call kids who zoned out (or "spaced out") and didn't pay attention in class for whatever reason. They were 'space cadets' cause they might as well have been on the moon for all they were paying attention to what was going on around them on Earth. It was often used as a bit of an insult though, and was definitely an insult and stung a bit for kids dealing with ADHD who often would feel pretty guilty when being called out for getting distracted. So the lady who called herself that was calling herself stupid/forgetful/spacey. It's not a nice thing to say.

I miss Dire grove. I'm sad they abandoned the live footage thing they did in that game, made it so cool. Dire grove was my first ever hog and my first playthrough took like 7 hours. My mum and I had it on disc and we were both playing it at the same time on different accounts and discussing what we thought was happening.

KZbin as a site feels like it's changed rapidly in this past year, so many people have retired. (That's okay, people have to make their own life decisions.) Hey Gab! I just went back through your HOG playlist and realized you don’t have the Drawn series listed. It’s a Big Fish Games series and I think it would be right up your alley. Super spooky and fun. Still one of my favorite HOGs to this day. First game in the series is Drawn: The Painted Tower.

I've played and completed this game because Alison from Dire Grove was in it. Dire Grove was the first HOG I played that had full motion video in it, which I thought was really neat

Seeing Gab play a lot of HOGs makes me think she'd really like the Dark Parables series too. Fairytale inspired Fragment HOGs! Edit: LONG explanation of what happened at the end there because I don't see any other comments explaining (so spoilers if you haven't finished watching) So Galloway thinks that Ankou purposefully saved him (rather than he stole one of her feathers), and grew to have the delusion that he could form a relationship with the death goddess- thus why he keeps talking about embracing her, wanting to be with her for eternity, all that jazz. He realizes that Ankou stays longer the heavier a soul is; the heavier a soul, the more of a good conscious the dead person had. This is why he keeps morally testing the Master Detective's conscious. This is why he kills them too! Because the MD's soul is extremely heavy, Ankou stayed long enough for Galloway to imprison her- he believed we had died and was completely unaware Ankou saved us. I'm pretty sure his final line isn't a desire to die; "if only you knew what a curse it is when death comes for everyone but you", in the context of Galloway wanting Ankou in a,,, carnal? Worshipping? Devoted Lover kind of way?? Sounds more like a "nice guy" saying "She loves everyone but ME when I'LL treat her RIGHT" kind of line

Im glad mystery case files is one of the most known HOGs, i grew up watching my mom play the 1st and 2nd ravenhearst games, with the 2nd one making me adore the dark fancy horror aesthetic it had, the garden, the underground town, the sea side and train rail, the elevator, every set pieces the game had was gorgeous despite being dreadful to clean, left big impressions on my little child mind hwhw.

I love hidden object games. You should look into the Dark Parables series. I've only gotten to play 4 of them but there are so many. The Exlied Prince and The Curse of Briar Rose are my favorites. There's also a Penny Dreadful's Sweeney Todd that is good.

my guess is: the evil dude was immortal, was sick of the only one surviving so he planned to make everyone immortal by trapping Enkou and I don't know maybe he planned to take on her powers or something? (that is a little vague to me), and he used "your" pure soul & death to summon Enkou, which in turn trapped her for some reason in that dome?, but because your destroyed the machinery, his anger made him smash the feather by accident which finally made him die. (and then he revealed the reason for his actions because he knew he was going to die anyways) Either the take on someone else in the comment (because there can't exist two immortal feathers at once), his broke. Or his feather was basically used up so it broke? Dunno. Anyways, loved this one! Such a cool story!

I think I recall her mentioning in a recent video that she does intend to finish it but that she's currently quite busy with the number of games she has on the go. Has Gab ever played Machinarium? It's a puzzle game by Amanita Designs with a fantastic art style and concept. I used to play it on my mums phone, it was quite tricky for me as a kid but it shouldn't be too hard. Definitely recommend to anyone who likes puzzle games :]
