I see this particular arrangement as a dialogue of sorts between Elio and Oliver. After watching it a few times, I came to the realization that the first verse is in a higher range (Elio) while the second is in a lower (Oliver). The third brings the two together in a sort of "duet" that's both beautiful and mesmerizing. I've seen a few piano covers of this awesome track, but yours is easily my favorite. For years I had heard about Call Me By Your Name but been warned not to read/watch it as it is somewhat explicit. Eventually, I couldn't take it anymore and I read the book and watched the movie. It's such a beautiful and emotional story. It's so reductive of people to reduce it to just the 'shocking' parts, and I feel like that's just symptomatic of larger stereotypes about gay men and the queer community in general. I'm so glad I watched this movie, it's so beautiful.
