A great little EDC pack with a removable flap that transforms it into a panel-loading style weekend travel pack.

Thanks for your review, you have a way with praising a pack's features without necessarily overselling it. Very trustworthy. I agree with the commenter who wanted an admin section. I feel like I'd want to sew some extra webbing and straps into this pack once I got it. And I know it's supposed to be "minimalist" but a front stretch pouch never hurt anyone!

This one stands up on its own very well which is a great feature and also when that vertical separator in place it creates space for water bottles on each side of main compartment. So clever!

Great review thanks. And good timing just back from a trip and for sure need a smaller travel bag that can be used as a day pack. The water bottle holder was a negative for me . It like to get a perfect bag we have to stretch on our own straps, Cheers Vancouver Island

I agree, proper water bottle pockets aren't something that a lot of companies do well.

Great review. I love that you showed how you would pack some items in there and what worked. What is the seatosummit bag you had that you packed in there?

Just ordered this bag to replace my 10+ year old leather Oakley Bathroom sink. Hoping it lasts me as long, and is as useful too.

It looks like an improved version of the street Zen which I did like but no outside pockets for water bottles

Yep! It's similar to the street Zen, but with some improved features and water bottle pockets.

Very thorough! I wish it was a little more attractive - that flap looks a little janky. But I'm sure the materials and construction feel top notch in person

Super thorough review - you really covered the bases - thank you! I am loving this pack sooo much! Unfortunately, can’t find the 24L in a color like this in black anywhere - ugh. If there’s any chance you’d be interested in selling this one, I’d pay a great price!

This would have been my perfect EDC for my needs, but the shallow water bottle without the reinforcement strap is gonna be a deal breaker for me. I really like your suggestions and maybe you should join the MR design team lol. I wonder how it holds up carrying a 24oz hydro flask which is taller.

Great review. Do you find that the front velcro panel is easy to access when swinging over the shoulder? It looks a bit faffy to me - undo the velcro, undo the button, then unzip and peel the flap back... but could be easier in practice?
@OneBagTravels
@OneBagTravels Жыл бұрын
It's easier in practice. You can peel the flap back and the button pops out at the same time. Closing it you have to do all those steps backwards though. Not terribly difficult, but not the easiest access.

I've been testing the 18L version and I find that I can just unzip the side of the Velcro panel pocket and just access the contents from the side without undoing the flap and button.

I really dislike the Velcro closure. Mystery Ranch has great harnesses but I wish they'd borrow some designers from Aer/Bellroy/Evergoods for their pocketing.

Are velcros as durable as zippers?
@OneBagTravels
@OneBagTravels Жыл бұрын
Velcro is durable, but can be susceptible to getting full of lint and not working as well, or you have to clean it out.
