To remedie this problem you have to sand/clean/wipe the back of the wheel (in your case the VOLK) that mates to the brake rotor hat. This is standard noise on all GTR's that come in (I'm a certified GTR specialist) 99% of the wheels after cleaning/sanding/wipe down gets rid of noise.

My car at low speeds feels as if my tires are literally just draggin against the pavement when on turns. what could this be? also when im reversing and i give gas it feels as if my rear wheel is going to fall of. can you help me out bro
@lordmekobear4 жыл бұрын
@@trualbanian1 depends on what wheel and size but if you have stock or near stock specs up to 13 wide in the rear and 11 up front the slip or lack of grip in the rear when moving forward or in reverse is normal at low speeds. (in turn) going straight there shouldn't be any binding or drag.

Hi I have the same issue with my 2018 GTR, and so far when I changed the issue in the axle boot the noise is gone.. maybe check the axle boot if the grease is dry 😊

Attention it is essential that you pay attention to the rolling circumference between the front and rear axles, otherwise the ETS is subject to high wear and tear and jams. The drivetrain becomes tense with different sizes. In your case also between left and right. Tire manufacturers differ from one another in terms of the rolling circumference. It is best to always measure the circumference yourself when you have a new tire combination.

You are 100% correct. The toyo r888 is the proper diameter for the gtr set up but if you decide to go with r888r the 315 is not the correct diameter. You will need to go with 325 on the rear. Thanks for the comment 👍
@thehuangbros4 жыл бұрын
Nice glad you solved it. I think 325/30/20 is a better combination for the ETS.

I’m running stock sizes and stock rims on my 2008, and still have the noise from time to time. Usually cleaning the hub works, but it comes back every 3-4 months. I have the clips done on the brakes, so it’s not that. Very strange that swapping your rims makes the sound go away though!

ok, sorry this took so long... I have no sound at all from the wheels/tires...1st, I'm assuming the proper lug nuts are used (i.e. ball or conic). This being said, even if the lug bore on the Rays are over sized, the lug nuts should center the lug bore to the lug, as the lugs get torqued down. The hub centric ring will help further center the wheel on the hub/lug...if there are any movement(s) at all, you should have a bigger problems my friend, as the wheel assemble should be moving around as you drive, and should be immediately noticeable to you. I'm thinking your Rays are tight and centered on the hub, so i think it could be the tire. Hear me out; I had a instance where I've installed a brand new set of Yokohama V107 on my Type R, and a month later, I started hearing clicks as I start moving from stop...for couple months I could not figure out what the issue was. So since the Yoko's where rubbing a bit, I've change out all four tire, and the sound it gone. Any one else around you with another set or Rays? or maybe try to use that wheel on a different GT-R, or try one of the rear Rays in the front to see if any clicking? Hope this was at least a little help.

What about CV joint?
@phothrottle3 жыл бұрын
Patrick I'm certain it's not the CV joint because the sound goes away with the stock rims. I was advised by some friends that the cause of the click is from the r888r. I'm currently 315 on the rear and it's off by 2% front to back and being out that much is not good for the clutches. 325 is the proper size and hopefully will solve the clicking noise. I will do an update vlog come spring.

@phothrottle3 жыл бұрын
Have you changed tire brands? I was told the overall diameter of the tires can cause the clicking noise. The tolerance for the r35 is not very high and can throw of the ETC. For example the toyo r888r 315 diameter is a full inch smaller. I will make another video explaining all of this. But check your tire diameters front and back first. Make sure they match.

Phuong Tran Unscripted thanks for replying as I’m using cup 2 and is just regular size to original rim
@phothrottle3 жыл бұрын
@@Reaper-cq4sw I just checked the specs on the cup2 and they are with in factory diameter specs. I would still measure the diameter just to make sure they are the same. Uneven tire wear can be a contributing factor so I was told.
