in a machine shop they're called go/no-go gauges, they're used for quick thickness measurements and the tabs end is used for measuring grooves. in your case rabbetts and dados

A real cliffhanger. You're a good craftsman, I'm a retired self-employed jewelry craftsman with 50 years working in the trade. It looks like you are using 3-0 or 4-0 saw blades, try using 5-0 or even 6-0 - I used 6-0 - Bergeon "Old Gold Label" saw blades, I think you will like them.

Really can't see the mystery, they are obviously plastic tuning forks for tuning guitars with nylon strings.🙂

Y'all are wrong...these are "replacement" tuning forks for an "over-sized Gumby" Sue has stashed in her closet along with other relics like "Stretch Armstrong" and discarded Gummy Bears.

Obviously, they are tiny dowsing rods! :-) Seriously, though, I suspect that they are gauges to quickly zero in on a width or thickness on the "y-shaped" end, and a tool to quickly determine the width of a hole on the other. But I still like the dowsing rod idea!
