My dad was on the Queen Mary when she collided with the Curacoa. He had just gotten his turn to go below to sleep. Since he was the smallest, he had to take the top rack, stacked five high. They heard a loud crash and a sudden stop and were all thrown off their bunks in a pile of ten men, with my dad landing on top. They were scrambling to get off each other expecting to die thinking they had just been torpedoed. They waited below decks but the ship continued on and they were told nothing. When they disembarked, they could see the men ahead of them looking back. When my dad finally was out and able to look back, he said the bow looked like someone had taken a bite out of it. He didn't know what had happened until he visited the Queen Mary in the '90s in Long Beach. There was a tiny display in the lower part of the ship explaining what happened but had the incorrect date. My dad let them know and they corrected it.

True story. My daughter and I moved to California and wanted to site see. We planned on seeing the Queen Mary the next day. That night, i had a dream of a little girl about 3-4 years old wearing a white old fashioned looking dress, black ankle boots, and short black dutch boy hair style. She was standing next to my bed staring at me, not speaking. I got very creepy vibes from her like when you see a ghost. I told her to leave. She looked at me like she didn’t understand. I said go, you can’t stay here. She looked confused. I said it again pointing at the door to my apartment and she opened it then left. The next day we went to the QM. We had a guided tour when we were told a story of the little girl who drowned in a pool - they showed us a photo of her - it was exact child I saw in my dream. Very frightening.

My fiancee and I stayed on the Queen Mary a few times, ive lived in Long Beach nealy my whole life. Theres only one truly terrifying story i have about our stays there... In the main restaurant my fiancee (not realizing their specials are usually pricey) order that, a bottle of wine, dessert etc (which was beyond wonderful), but getting that bill still sends shivers down my spine. Over $300 before the tip. It was more than the room cost for those two nights.

So many to tell.. I first went in 2012 before they closed off majority to public and renovations. I developed a fascination for the ship the second I went on. It was a time capsule, the last of its kind and closest to titanic anyone could ever get. It feels like electricity in the air and the energy is so strong you can feel a whole unseen world going on around you. My first experience was in one of the few still running authentic elevators. My family was staying on B deck and was having dinner at the then Sor Winston saloon on the upper decks. I was late and in the elevator on my way up when the entire space filled up with a thick and undeniable Chanel number 5 perfume (the top fragrance at the time she was still in service). Later on a worker on the ship mentioned the exact elevator is where a woman in blue is infamously seen in the reflections of the doors standing behind guests.
@chanelchambers8496 ай бұрын
My next experience was a few years later. We were living in Long Beach and wanted to explore and stay on the ship again. My sister and I booked one of the first class mahogany suites. It was later at night when the ship was quite and mostly empty. We wondered into one of the 3 ballrooms open the the public. I believe it was the second class dance floor. We were being silly and dancing on the main floor re-enacting ballroom dancing when I felt a hand on the small of my back and soft push like someone was guiding me. The whole room felt alive with e energy that is very hard to explain. Again like a whole unseen party was going on. I’m sure it’s what some call residual energy. Naturally I jerked away from the unseen pressure/presence. Me and my sister spent a while sitting on the main stage talking about what just happened and how it wasn’t scary at all. Then we heard one of the doors start rattling. (There were two doors on each side of the ballroom leading to opposite sides of the deck). The rattling was hard like someone was outside trying to jerk the door open but there was a chain around the knobs. Obviously me and my sis got scared we were in a off limits part of the ship and got caught. We hurried off to the opposite side door leading back into the mall ship. The next morning we went on the tour before checking out. During the tour we went to the exact ballroom where we found out there was no access to the decks without going through the exact chained doors that were trying to be opened from the outside the previous night. To this day I don’t know if it was a prankster, staff or something else.
@chanelchambers8496 ай бұрын
The last one was probably the most hard to believe. Was I dreaming? Am I crazy?! I was staying in one of the suites and could not sleep the entire night. The ship was super cold and if you ever stayed there you know the heating and ac systems are ancient! It was very noisy that night. Even though the ship was pretty empty it sounded like a party was going on the whole night. (A frequent occurrence I later found). Finally dosing off I managed to sleep on and off a few hours till around 5-6am the light was coming through the portholes and I barely opened my eyes when at the foot of the bed man was standing there staring dead at me. He was wearing a blue or dark navy suit and I remember 2 gold lines on the cuff and a pill box hat. He looked like a cliche bellboy. I blinked a few times and he was gone. I assumed I was crazy until touring the top bridge deck and captain’s quarters. In one of the glass classes were the authentic uniforms used while the ship was in operation and you guessed it! The same exact suit and hat I had seen the young man in. Reading the sign I found out the gold lines on the sleeve had something to do with his position and rank. Again it was not scary or threatening. The feeling I got was calming and curious on nature. I feel like spirits from the past simply come back to enjoy moments in time lost but not forgotten.

If it allows, I’d love a dive on the alleged haunting(s) of battleship North Carolina and/or the USS hornet, both are allegedly haunted and creepy things happen, I personally didn’t see anything, but when I visited battleship NC when I was in Wilmington, even though a decent bit of other people were there, walking through the ship just felt, off. Queen Mary is my old stomping grounds. We would wander all over that ship in the 70s. Tours were Jacque Cousteou ? And the Poseidon Adventure desplay. We would duck into off limit doors and traips around the lower levels. We did see the cells where prisoners were kept. Toured the pool area before it was opened as an attraction. We would stay on the ship over 4th of July weekends. Now my youngest takes his children as a family tradition. Beautiful ship. More should have been transformed and preserved. Never wittnessed anything paranormal.

I love this ship but I don't think I'll ever go back. Last April, my husband and I decided it would be fun to visit the ship together. He had never been, I have been numerous times but we are both history fanatics. After we disembarked the ship I had the most horrific migraine of my life and was vomiting. I had to go to the hospital and later had a panic attack. We didnt experience anything paranormal there My husband was really freaked out and we think that because so many people engage in necromancy there it's permanently cursed Hopefully the ship will just be respectfully sunk at this point, it's disintegrating just like the Russian sub that was docked next to it for years and now no longer is safe to tour.
