@@BeanOnTheFlipside actually most hunter gatherer tribes were extremely egalitarian and we have a lot of proof that in most cases even physically disabled people were cared for long into their lives, often having worse dental health (a typical sign of a diet higher in fruits and sweets than the average person, implying they typically also were heavily spoiled). Our greed and hoarding from a societal and anthropological sense is far more of a learned behavior in societies. The dawn of agriculture created a massive shifts in how humans lived, forcing large groups to move in closer together, and with the need for organization of these larger communities led to a much firmer class system to form and encourage people to focus on improving only their and their closest loved ones lives,.While it wasn't perfect by any means, ancient humanity was far better at the whole humanity part than most of our history post agriculture. Really fascinating to research the dawn of civilization and how it affected our social interactions and priorities as a species.

What is most painful about this movie is that when medbays land on Earth it becomes clear that there was never a resource problem - there is enough medbays to heal whole Earths population - and nothing stands in the way of Earthers being healed. True, but it does reflect real society. There has physically been enough food produced on the earth so that no one goes hungry for a very long time, yet world hunger kept existing. A similar thing can be said about healthcare and drugs too. Even if there was always enough for everyone, it's realistic that the higher class would try to keep it for themselves.
@julius434612 жыл бұрын
@@panner11 It does not reflect reality at all. It's not like rich are hoarding food so no one else can get it. You think that each time I throw away my food I have to make a decision if I should rather donate it to a hungry child? No, I throw it away because there is nothing else I could do with it. You are right. But it does make sense for them to help when they have billions of dollars they got off our backs, our labor, our struggles, our pain. . . They have billions of dollars. Money that they can't possibly spend in their life time, their grandkids life time and their grandkids grand kids lifetime. It's not that we are mad they have money. We are mad they made that money off of our suffering and although they could save the world a few times over and still be billions of dollars rich and all that money does is sit there. the name “Elysium” comes from Greek mythology which is basically heaven but it’s in the underworld because heaven (“Olympus” being the true heaven) is only for gods and immortals

Just so it’s said, this movie is good in full form if your on the fence to seeing it later. Usually not the case for sci-fi films this past decade but I found it enjoyable

I love the narrator!! Brings emotion and humanness (Ik its not a word) all while keeping a monotone and calm voice, the jokes are actually funny. I think I prefer the narrator over the A.I now

Great film. By a fellow South African too. Fun fact. MedBays or MedBeds as they are called, are actually real. The producers knew their stuff. MedBeds are the future to curing all diseases and injuries. Hopefully very soon, they will start spreading across the planet and at much cheaper prices for all. The ultimate gift of compassion to the Earth, Animals and Humanity.

I like how Max actually died. I mean, it was sad and stuff, but he did it to save the world, so that’s a good reason. I’m glad that he stayed dead, because using a MedBay or something to bring him back would have taken away from the sacrifice.

Watching all these movie recaps and seeing the same actors used more than I realized. Like I get bankable actors that get used to generate a fan base or hype. But I always love when new actors come about that finally make their break in a role.

I absolutly loved this video: It may not be as important for other people like it is to me but I really like all the stuff you are adding to this/these channel/s. All the little details like the comments of prefering being stung by a spider or thinking that it was a terrible way to get superpower make this videos even greater. In my opinion I really liked the robotic voice because I could concentrate more on the movie but this litte improvements make the difference so I'm glad it like this now.
