honestly in terms of Western nations North America is pretty much the only country that still has areas of evangelism. In Europe and the Commonwealth 99% of Christians are extremely moderate and practice either moderate Catholicism or Church of England with other groups like Methodist and Baptist denominations being much smaller and localised, groups such as Mormons and JW's are regarded as a little on the extreme side and only really exist in small pockets outside the US. Christianity is no longer the fanatical blood-spilling religion of the medieval ages that a lot of people paint it as, and as a European atheist myself I struggle to understand why people treat it with such hostility, often I've noticed most hostility comes from the US so I assume there must be a higher presence of fanatical churches in the states but I would need to ask.

Ok, so movie aside, I don't think girls would ever make fun of another girl for having a period and for not knowing about it. It's the number one thing that girls put aside their differences for. Shes emotionally unstable and stunted due to her isolated upbringing under a mentally ill mother and totally incapable of controlling her emotions. She wouldn't be able to rule anything and ordinary people would view her as nothing more than a child murdering monster that slaughtered half the town's children in a fit of rage and would quickly unite to exact revenge. While her story is sad, she should be viewed the same way as a school shooter, 99% of that room didn't deserve death. People would've looked at this film very differently if instead of cool powers she had a firearm.

I read the book a few years ago and if I remember it correctly Carrie actually survived as well, because a family letter was attached at the end of the book, in which a woman was telling a family member of hers about her daughter who had similar powers to the woman’s mother, therefore it was insinuated that Carrie was alive and eventually created a family after running away.

No. Carrie died in a roadhouse parking lot. Sue watched, ran away, and had her period as she ran. The letter was several years after Carrie died, to show that another girl inherited the gene. Gotta love the "obviously beautiful girl, isn't actually ssen as beautiful until she puts on some makeup, and brushes her hair" trope!?!? The hallmark of all classic early '2000's teen flicks. The cherry on top would have been if she'd gone from glasses, to no glasses.....but hey, beggers can't be choosers. 🤷

In all fairness to the film, she’s never called ugly or plain looking in the film, she’s an outcast because she has zero social skills and isn’t good in P.E. either, Chris states at one point in their elementary days that Carrie said everyone but her and her mom are going to hell, likely repeating what her mother told her, which started her alienation from her peers, overall nothing to do with her appearance. Her mom is a religious fanatic which also doesn’t help her. Also the director Kimberly states that the reason this Chris in this version has a blotchy spray tan, overly-makeup, and ratty hair extensions is represent the character’s insecurities, so Chris likely is at least partially motivated to torment this version of Carrie because of Chloe’s natural beauty.

Saw this movie when it came out I was 14 at the time and a couple of my friends and I were able to get in even though it was rated R, the theater was packed and when the ending came at the grave sight scene...well let's just say everyone in that theater probably had nightmares that night! Scary flick...

Carrie is the best example of why you should never bully a person. Due to getting bullied and having bad parents you will turn evil thats why many serial killers exist. If you check it clearly 90% of serial killers had bad childhood abs was bullied . This is why we must treat everyone with respect

In the movies. IRL being nice will get you bullied because others will know you're different and see you as weak. It especially has many disadvantages in the work place, and those who are the biggest bullies are usually successful and well liked at work.

@@muzan_jackson1808 It's only right because of the new generation standards. 10-20 years ago, society normalized bullying on ugly kids. Hence why I said bullying on good looking kids is weird. If you think that bullying ugly kids or just kids in general is wrong, then more power for you. Proof that human race is trying to be better. I wished I was born 15 years later.

most kids who get bullied are kids who are perceived as weird or weak. has very little to do with how one looks even though it definitely plays a huge role but the stronger types can easily defend against this type of bullying. it's mainly vulnerable people that fall victim to continuous disrespect.
