When I was 19, my appendix decided to explode, and it was the most painful thing I've ever felt. That scene at the end really isn't exaggerating. Morphine is an INSANE drug. I would never dare start using opiates recreationally because I know I'd end up od'ing. Opiates are insane, messed up drugs.

I got my 'exploded' appendix removed only 2 days after it happened due to the poor hospital's management cuz their covid testing machine was broken. They insisted on waiting for the PCR covid test results while knowing that their machine was unusable and I was in extreme pain for the whole 2 days. They didn't even conduct the operation appropriately resulting me had abscess left inside my appendix area, and I eventually had my stomach cut open 10 days later at a different hospital. The first hospital also only gave me 4 days worth of antibiotic after the surgery. I still cannot forgive everyone who was involved till this day for their ignorance and incompetencies which almost resulted in me losing my life.

There's this one little thing that ruins the whole reason for the stasis thing. Electrolysis. You can conduct electricity through water to separate the Oxygen from the Hydrogen in water. It's something we've known how to do for a very long time. Large submarines use this to create oxygen for their crew actually. This movie simply wouldn't work knowing that. Sure there would still be constraints but I don't think they would be so bad as to require putting humans in hibernation.... Realistically one would have everyone leaving near the Ocean in enclosed buildings near large electrolysis plants of some sort. Likely nuclear powered or via solar/wind.
