It's nice to have one even if you're not planning on using it much. Frigor and levitate are useful for platforming, especially if you don't have sky rapture. And sopor is handy if you're trying to kill something with defenses that are little to high for you/your pawns.

A game that is the upcoming sequel to a predecessor that has suddenly found a small resurgence in today’s market? A game that will essentially be a more casual elden ring to the average buyer? Read that one again, is it really copium to think a more casual friendly elden ring would sell gangbusters rn? The first dogma game was poorly marketed, and was a bit too niche. Capcom is fully positioned to make sure this one goes perfect. I’m not gonna let some internet bozo tell me that an entirely reasonable dose of optimism is foolish. Being hopeful is a good and healthy thing for people to do. Find something better to pick on people for, or just stop making all your online interactions “based” and “dank” and interact like a normal person.

​@@calebfoley5872 totally agree,mate. Dragons dogma is one of the most underrated games of all time, altough it is one of the best RPG games ever made in the video game history. Sometimes I think it is because it was released almost at the same season of Skyrim.... Skyrim took the attention of the entire planet between 2011 and 2014. The same happened with Kingdoms of Amalur... a great RPG, but equally underrated, as DD, unfortunetely.

If you cast Abyssal Anguish on your staff as a MK, like with swords and mace weapons it can amplify certain attacks and spells done with the staff. I found out by accident one day casting Anguish then using Brontide, did so crazy damage to a garm.

After playing so much Elden Ring, I really hope Dragon's Dogma 2 has something like the Carian slicer spell from that game specifically for Mystic Knight.

Too small scale for a game like Dragon’s dogma. The only reason why carian slicer is good is cause mages can’t use swords in that game (and because carian slicer does damage that can get a little silly with buffs) Something like carian piercer? Sure, but 10x bigger and cooler

Big fan of staff Mystic Knight. Using Abyssal Anguish with a staff makes it into a cool beam effect emanating from the head of the staff. Sopor with a rusted staff can also cause torpor and poison.

max rusted staff will inflict topor and poison on high sopor so makes the sleep last longer and they get up slower also anguish works w brontide if you get close the swinging animation for brontide actually has hits that hit anguish so you are getting both hits and it just deletes sleeping enemies like this

Its actually crazy how dog water Holy Retribution is. I think I did some testing once and the ONLY thing it has going off the BBI item version is that it is capable of doing more damage because it has stat scaling. I say "capable" because it still does not do damage. It still eats your stamina, which the BBI version does not do I think. Also its unlisted but it grants increased stamina regen to everything inside the field for its duration, which is cool but also locked behind a skill that takes way too long to cast. Man I wish Holy Retribution was good...

This is why Mystic Knight is my Top Favourite Vocation to play as. I do use the Staff as MK from time to time and it's quite fun. Sword/Mace for Melee Combat plus Cannon and Sigil Spam. The Staff, aside inflicting Sleep can grant you Levitate to add more distance to your jumps when needed. And the Magick Shield for anything variety of buffs and ripostes. Mystic Knight has a nice balance of Melee and Magic, plus being versatile against any form of enemies if you know what you're doing.

What main pawn do you use for a MK? i am training a ranger pawn but i am considering switching her to a strider since i hear people say skull spliters work well with magic cannon.

Striders are the best pawns in general and yes, brain splitter works on great cannon. Otherwise it's sorcerer for pure strength vocations.

I tried a staff MK. Wasn't bad, but I really, REALLY wish they were given more unique abilities than just Sopor. Maybe a different healing spell than anodyne (they don't get anodyne; im just saying, another healing type spell would be nice)? A holy and/or dark attack line of spells? A melee moveset that scales with magick stats? Just... something!
