Mystical Christian Jesus Prayer (Church Slavonic) - Prayer of the Heart - Noetic Prayer - 2 Hours

The Jesus Prayer, also known as The Prayer, is a short formulaic prayer esteemed and advocated especially within the Eastern churches: "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me (a sinner)." The prayer has been widely taught and discussed throughout the history of the Orthodox Church. The ancient and original form did not include the words "a sinner", which were added later.
It is often repeated continually as a part of personal ascetic practice, its use being an integral part of the eremitic tradition of prayer known as hesychasm. The prayer is particularly esteemed by the spiritual fathers of this tradition as a method of cleaning and opening up the mind and after this the heart (kardia) and bringing about firstly the Prayer of the Mind or more correctly the Noetic Prayer (Νοερά Προσευχή) and after this the Prayer of the Heart. The Prayer of the Heart is considered to be the Unceasing Prayer that the Apostle Paul advocates in the New Testament. Theophan the Recluse regarded the Jesus Prayer stronger than all other prayers by virtue of the power of the Holy Name of Jesus. Though identified more with Eastern Christianity, the prayer is found in Western Christianity in the catechism of Catholic Church. It also is used in conjunction with the recent innovation of Anglican Prayer Beads. The prayer "have mercy on me" is not meant to be a submissive pleading in front of a revengeful God, but refers to the manifold situations where people asked Christ to do something for them, to turn towards them, to grant them his attention and divine action. The prayer therefore asks Christ to work on and in the praying person, bringing God to them and helping them in their inner life.
Church Slavonic (literally "Church-Slavonic language"), also known as Church Slavic, New Church Slavonic or New Church Slavic, is the conservative Slavic liturgical language used by the Eastern Orthodox Church in Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Ukraine, Russia, Serbia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Slovenia and Croatia. The language appears also in the services of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, the American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese, and occasionally in the services of the Orthodox Church in America. In addition, Church Slavonic is used by some churches which consider themselves Orthodox but are not in communion with the Orthodox Church, such as the Macedonian Orthodox Church, the Montenegrin Orthodox Church, the Russian True Orthodox Church, and others. The Russian Old Believers and the Co-Believers also use Church Slavonic. Church Slavonic is also used by Greek Catholic Churches in Slavic countries, for example the Croatian, Slovak and Ruthenian Greek Catholics, as well as by the Roman Catholic Church (Croatian and Czech recensions).

I pray everyday n night for I also am a sinner. I use to steal, fight n rob people, commit adultery, went to prison, dishonour my parents n lie to people to cover up my guilt. This is russian, not church slavonic. It sounds extremely similar to the russian version but in slavonic the "g" is changed to an "h" (like hospodi instead of gospodi and at the end "hre-esh naho") and a couple other minor changes. Not fluent but grew up in a byzantine catholic church. The internet tends to group russian orthodoxy and Byzantine catholics (who still use old church slavonic) together, so its prob just an innocent error. I had to look it up myself and only really knew because of "gospodi" not being "hospodi" and generally in Slavic languages the endings of certain words are slightly different and thats about it) I love the russian recording as an alternative but unfortunately this isnt church slavonic, just very close to it.
