My version: On a visit to Cerulean City, allowing Misty to be in the Episode, and thus conflict!! Serena meets Ash in Cerulean and they visit the Gym. Ash and Misty get to talking about old times and Serena gets jealous and challenges Misty to a battle for Ash’s affection. Ash and Misty blush at the insinuation, increasing Serena’s ire. Misty and Serena battles while Goh is talking to Ash about what’s going on. Clueless Ash doesn’t entirely understand, but after the battle is over, understands enough and tells Serena that while Misty was the first one to join him on his journey, that doesn’t mean Serena’s journey with him meant any less. Misty adds in that Ash kept getting them lost and that they argued most of the time as well, getting a chuckle out of Ash, embarrassed at his past self being so immature. Misty and Serena become friends and Misty mentions May from Hoenn, sparking recognition in Serena, who had met May and her family in Petalburg while she was in between Contest Runs. This gets them to talking about memories and Goh gets super excited to learn more about the Pokémon Ash has met in the past, sparking an idea to go investigate the rumor of Suicune appearing on Cerulean Cape. They investigate and like with Ho-Oh in Ecruteak, only Serena gets a quick glimpse, but everyone is excited anyways. Goh gets two new water Pokémon and Serena gets one as well. Misty wishes them well and cheers Ash on for the World Tournament! As their leaving, a trainer for the Region walks up to the Gym, asking for a Battle. A pepped up Misty grins as she accepts and they head inside for their battle. “As the Journey Continues...” Thoughts??

My friend was making up one where Ash, Goh, and Chloe return to the Kalos region for a different battle in the coronation series and Ash reunited with Serena and the group meets Miette. He then made up where she began to taunt Chloe over Goh and they begin to have a rival similar to Serena and Miette in X and Y.

Being an amourshipper myself, I strongly believe that Serena is definitely the most anticipated side character in Pokémon history. It would be amazing to have all of Ash's previous companions show up but Serena will definitely be the icing on the cake. Brock - The older brother Misty - The older sister May - The student Max - The younger brother Dawn - The best friend Iris-Cilan - Not sure what they are :P Clemont - The science buddy Bonnie - The little sister Serena - The girlfriend and all of Ash's Alolan classmates! Perfect opportunity to make this a season finale.
