The weird thing about Ash and Clefairy is that despite Mystic mentioning that it's a Fairy-type, Clefairy was a Normal-type in Gen 1. So by the time Gen 6 rolls around; there would be some kind of retcon as there was with his Mr. Mime.

When you think about it.. remember that arc where Pikachu was having trouble trying to learn Iron Tail. You just replace that with Clefairy trying to learn Meteor Mash

Cool video Mystic. I honestly missed your Mystic Reads stuff, so I'm glad you brought it back. Glad you used Clefairy, since it was originally going to be the masket for the franchise.

For the few of you who don't know, the reason why Clefairy is Ash's starter is because Clefairy was originally going to be the mascot for Pokemon, but they thought it was too girly. As a result, they changed it to Pikachu to appeal to both boys and girls. I know it's common knowledge at this point, but there's always that one person that doesn't know so I'm just helping out :)

Ash starting with Squirtle is typically what happens in the various 'what if' scenarios where Ash wakes up on time in the first episode, since it was his canonical first choice.

I would like to see Ash's Clefairy as a Cleffa and by the time Ash and his gang got to Mt. Moon, I would like to see what would Ash's Clefairy react to Clefairy and Clefable and seeing Ash's Clefairy joining a group of Clefairys and Clefables in Mt. Moon.

I don't think that Clefairy would have the same dislike and attitude as Pikachu did. Using the same storyline doesn't feel right. I think Clefairy would have had a happy, no care attitude and if knowing only metronome, the unpredictability would have caused the frictions and headaches for Ash. But wanting to still establish the same friendship and devotion, as he did with Pikachu. This would have created Greninja/Ash by the third or fourth gym battles. Their shared bond would have manipulated the metronome results in their favor, making Clefairy very OP. Who needs Charizard? 😂 Bulbasaur was grumpy enough to act as an opposite personality. I cannot imagine it ever evolving into Clefable though. Love Charizard's arch though.

Almost though... 😕 I actually went to revisit the episode and believe it or not there are some significant changes in *personality* .The mass audience cheering Ash is doesn't get electrocuted and pulls a "Litten" type of situation. Where the meanie bratty (Or edgy,cool headed) Pokémon has quite the soft spot and only taunts Ash. The episode's enviromental events are the same but the personality is definetly different.
