I picked up swimming again after a long lay off. First day, I could barely make a length of the 25 yard pool. Now, I am up to 2 miles or so per day. Keep it up!

I start swimming because of medical recomendations after a spine surgery. I almost lost the ability to walk and I could barely lift my left leg, I was in pain 24/7. After the surgery, I started rehab and physical therapy, and improved a lot and very quickly. Some months later, I started taking basic swimming lessons, from zero. And three years later, thanks to swimming and other exercises, I have improved my spine health and mobility (I can even swim fly), I don't have any pain at all, and recently swam my first race! A 100m free in 1:24.42 becoming 9th of my age group. Another plus, it is helping me a lot with the loss of my mom, for me, it is meditative.
