Once again you show your funny side without compromising on the information side. I guess your students like you and learn a lot from you.

Thanks for another great video. I have one, and it’s working fine. I just made new parts to hold the spool lower and make the connection to the sensor easier. I still haven’t fixed the lid height, but I’m working on it. I do struggle a lot with ABS, ASA, and HIPS, but it’s likely due to my inexperience with these filaments. Printables has a very productive if small KLP1 community. I took inspiration for my fixes from there and also posted them there.

It should be fairly easy to work for "B" or even "A" (without adding too much price) if you are a _good student_ :)

nice to see a good review from the latest revision of the printer. i have the same "issues"as you have. but as i like to tinker a lot with my printer, it does not really bother me. there are some config fixes to lower the noise of the steppers and the mainboard fan. since the part cooling is pretty good, i do not run the fan above 50%, so it is a lot less noisy. i see in your video that your build plate is not aligned very well, my buildplate had a heigt difference from 5mm, front to back.. but that is easy fixable with the screws under the pei-sheet. that said, i am happy with the printer.

Thank you, useful feedback. Yes, it is a good printer for those who are not afraid of some tinkering.

I've had a similar issue with filament getting wrapped around the gear with the KP3S Pro V2 extruder (which I believe is very simlar to the KLP1 extruder). I examined the extruder and found a lot of sideways play of the stepper driven drive gear and its axle. (It appears to be at least 2 mm). This is enough to allow the driving grooves to get out of line with each other so much that the filament can get between the gear teeth instead of being in the drive groove. The filament then pushes the gears apart and the filament slips between the tension gear (drive gear with the spring) and the extruder body. I've been thinking about making a bushing to keep the grooves aligned. It almost seems like a part is missing. For the KP3S V2 Pro, I found the wrapping problem is very likely to occur if you hold the 'filament switch' (spring lever) when loading filament (which is normal procedure for some other extruders) - since doing that opens up a space for the filament to slide under the gear. Instead, do not not use the spring lever at all. Just start the filament load and gently push on the filament until it gets pulled in. But it looks like the newest KLP1 extruder doesn't have a 'load lever' at all... so apparently that just leaves an issue with how the filament is guided into the extruder gears. I agree with you about the unnecessary idle noise. The KP3S Pro V2 has the same issue. The board and power supply fans go on 100% within a few seconds of power on even when the heaters and motors are off. It was the first complaint I had about the machine.

A great review of a printer i've heard very little about! I have a soft spot for Kingroon since my first printer was a heavily modded KP3s I bought off Facebook Marketplace. I actually really miss that thing, it was a fantastic machine! I wonder if theres a market for a printer that sacrifices some speed to be quiet/silent? Seems like nobody seems to care too much about that now though.

Hello great video Ive been wondering all in all what do you think is the quietest machine you've tested

Earlier I was following this, but nowadays, somehow the speed is above the noise: www.mytechfun.com/3dprinter-noise

For gear toy have you tried to change flow in the slicer? I have always problems with this hight tolerance pieces without change flow. Orca Slicer has flow calibration with two test printings. On a Kingroon KP3S Pro S1 (and KP5L) I had to change from .98 to .91 and now not only I've better tolerance, but also supports are more easy to remove and leave less artifacts.

IMHO it is not really worth the price. Just bought a Qidi Q1 pro for only 100 bucks more. And that thing has not half of the bugs this Kingroon has, and just prints each and everything all the time. Your print is visible bc. no tinted plastic and available lights, you have a camera, bigger build space, chamber heater, very good slicer profiles and so on. It has its flaws also, but there are not too many and the print quality is just excellent. I own the older KLP1 and this one is not really an improvement to it's half baked predecessor.

I just don't think this is good enough. Too many small issues. That much z movement while printing a single layer is also unacceptable. I think if you filmed the parts closer with less motion and overhead light, it would reveal many minor flaws. It is absolutely worth it to spend $100 more and get a Qidi Q1 Pro, for example. Fun video!
