Don't let the ball in your house is so brilliant. We can all hear our old coaches in our head saying "don't crowd yourself" or "hit the ball in front of you" or "you are late, prepare earlier"... This one thought point takes care of all of those in a more simple manner. Really smart. Thank you for your thoughtful content!

I started to notice not so long ago these 3 things to improve my forehand. Hitting the ball a bit in front of you, hitting when the ball it's on its highest point and doing the full swing. Instant improvement. So watching this vid now is great to know there is a reason for it 🙂

I like what you say about focusing on what's in front moreso than what's behind you. Thinking about behind technique to much can cause paralysis by analysis. I'm taking your advice and concentrating on how my stroke is entering/exiting contact zone. Focusing more on things in front like; speed of incoming ball, direction, spin, depth, height, bounce, spacing etc... Thanks coach. 👍😊

Great point about focussing on what's happening in front. If I stop to think about my take-back, my shot is never as good as when I focus on the ball and where I want it to go. The take-back takes care of itself.

this is a great video. not many videos talk about this, but I've always focused on this as well. main difference between our game and golf is exactly this point. ball is not stationary so each shot is different. what we want to do is get into the right position so that we can make it as close as possible to that ideal contact point position so that it is like a stationary ball.

For any video showing two different angels of stroke, it worth a thumb up. To have a better mindset of making contac in front of body, taking a open stance and anchor more on right foot is a good tip, because u are almost parellel to the baseline.

Great video and the format is nice! One suggestion: it’s useful to think about entering and exiting the “strike zone”. When talking about the point of contact, people usually have the idea of a point in space. Actually, what contributes to a clean contact is the smooth movement of the racket through the entire strike zone and what is key is the acceleration of the racket head from the start through the end of the strike zone. Thanks for idea of addressing the topic of clean contact with the ball; producing quality strokes is actually the essence of the game of tennis, in my opinion. Keep up the good work!
@KaruesellHQ3 жыл бұрын

Good, solid points, Karue. I think that the most important thing you said was towards the end of the video: learn how to distinguish what you are doing right and what you are doing wrong. Obviously, you can't always have a coach on the court with you so you need to develop the ability to self-diagnose and self-correct.
