I bought a real 1983 Gibson les paul custom pearl white new! It was so beautiful! I didn't want to play it! I still have it! So last year I decided to order a look a like! It turned out very nice! I changed everything, so now it's really nice! Thanks Terry 🤘

@@papablue3015 the real Les Paul Gibson are only worth around five or six hundred dollars to me since I discovered schecter guitar's I don't use anything else. I have a schecter demon six and a Damien platinum six both with Floyd Rose and I played Les Paul before but when I found something better I picked schecter, schecter also make the Best high quality cases, no brand has a better case

I used to buy Firefly imports to smash on stage during high profile gigs. Some people loved it, some hated it . But NO ONE forgot our bands name !!!!!!

Biggest red flag ? The slotted thumb wheel studs for the bridge ! Gibson guitars use a rounded blunt thumbwheel top !

First give away for me was when he turned the guitar on the back didn't have the battery compartment for the active EMG 8185 pick ups.on the back of the body id put a Seymour Duncan dimebucker in the bridge

I have had one out of curiosity myself, one from P4M and jason Jia...sold it a week after getting it (i stated it was a chibson obviously) Sadly Terry they never get it right, they never have the knobs in the correct position , and the pickup rings are epiphone sized, the headstock wings are symetrical, where as on a real Gibby there is a very slight height difference on the wings...its subtle but it exists on the real thing. The serial on the back of the headstock is never branded into the guitar and the font is wrong....so many giveaways. The logo placement is also wrong, the truss rod cover is wrong. I have however seen the odd few that did get the knob placement correct , but thats rare. mine even had fret nibs. I have yet to see a chibson that actually is a proper replica of the real thing.Your chibby straight away looks fake because of the knobs, first thing i noticed, and that can be spotted a mile away. But i can see how some are fooled by these (i dont mean yourself terry obviously), they see the gibson on the headstock and think "yeah a cheap gibson" these people have clearly never looked at or played a real les paul in their life. dont take me wrong i think they are excellent husks for modding up ones own LP style guitar, but obviously the GIbson logo should be removed imho. they can actually send them out without the logo if requested, or you can have your own put on them...Cathy Zhong is probably the most popular person to buy a Chibson from. but i have been down this rabbit hole myself....and im currently waiting to buy a used Gibson Les Paul standard in Ice Tea burst....after 30 years of playing i owe it to myself to buy my dream guitar and the real deal. just too add as i work my way through the vid, these are not made in epiphones factory after hours, that is a myth that has circulated.....if they were using epi factory and cnc templates the knob placement would at least be correct. as epi les pauls get that correct. I have even spoken with cathy and Jason...the two most popular chibson "Brokers" (however jason seems to be doing his own "jia" brand of guitar now. when something seems to good to be true , it usually is. and buying these are a nightmare, they are quick to take your money and then your get radio silence if any issues and you have to badger them relentlessly. P4M basicly use badcats guitars website to sell these things, you get sent dodgy backdoor links to the site and they offer sales like 40% off. If anyone out there really wants to buy one and is happy to waste 200-300 notes then at least use ebay, that way you can at least be protected as a buyer. but i urge anyone to not obviously, most listings show actual pics of a real les paul, then you wont get what you actually pay for....especially with the "greeny" versions. so for anyone thinking of buying one of these thinking you can fool others into thinking your playing a real gibson..please dont. if you want a gibson then buy the real thing. or look into the jap lawsuit era les pauls like tokai, burny, greco ect as they are well made intruments made in the famous fujigen factory. FGN les pauls are killer. i hope this info helps people who are searching and looking into buying a chibby...good vid terry mate.👍

I didn't realize the Bullseye LP had a maple neck and was left natural. Look's really cool. As far as Chibson LPs, I have the Zakk Wylde Vertigo LP. I got Grover tuners and the EMG ZW active pup set for upgrading it. I still want to put a bone nut, Gibson tailpiece/bridge and knobs. It came with a fancy engraved brass truss rod cover with Zakk's name on it, but I want to put a plain truss rod cover, like the Gibson Vertigo model has. It's a pretty decent guitar. While I do own 2 genuine Gibson guitars, I'm not a guitar brand snob and I have no intention in trying to pass off or sell my Chibsons as Gibsons.

Yes Gibson back in the 70's aka " Norlin Era " produced quite a few of there products in maple or with maple necks I guess to experiment & also see if the necks where stronger then the traditional mahogany ones they used for ages. To me, IF your a wood person ... you'd want something like this a instrument that showed off the figure of the wood. I think I seen 1 Les Paul Custom back in the day that was maple neck, top & back with a mahogany core ... looked sharp.
