Mythbusters Spoof - Time Travel

Our entry in the Discovery Channel spoof challenge. It's a Mythbusters spoof based partially on Back to the Future.

This is a classic youtube video. Whoever disliked is crazy

The disappearing effect is easy: 1. shoot the car moving (with tripod) making sure to end the shot on a stationary frame (stop moving camera) 2. keep the camera rolling until car moves out of frame 3. in post, remove the frames in between and splice the two parts together The other effects are just cheezy overlaid effects done mostly in Final Cut Pro.

Awesome job imitating Jamie and Adam's voices and mannerisms, and you even threw in a couple of a failures and a time lapse sequence, in true Mythbusters fashion. Great job.

This is one of the funniest and most accurate mythbusters spoofs i've ever seen. the only thing missing, that they have for EVERY myth is the 3..2..1.. count down. So, do we call you "Mithbusters"? "Smythbusters"?

thanks! this was back in October of last year. we never heard from Discovery channel, not a peep, not even a "thanks for submitting" kind of thing. disappointed, yes, but we had a blast making it.

yeah, actually "Plutonium 'N Stuff" would have been great. We did lots of stuff last-minute. We originally planned on Jaime walking out of Home Depot with the plutonium, but there's the whole copyright thing, so we simplified it.

I think this is brilliant... I loved 'Jamie' he had the whole attitude down pat. Shoulda put a funny beard on 'adam' tho. The concept was terriffic, had me chuckling the whole time. You did a really good job spoofing the show, especially where Jamie built the flux capacitor! Love mythbusters, love bttf, winning combination!

I saw many spoof today and so impressed.Original "Mythbusters"is based something like boy's dream,(I hope you will not misunderstand,everyone has boy's dream,(even females)I don't mean "childish"). At the point of "boy's dream",this video may beyond original.Great work. I believe the delorean was cold because the nuclear reactor needed cooling, though it wouldn't freeze that fast (if anything, the cooler wouldn't keep up with the heat). Nice touch using the miata, mythbusters always seems to use those
