Maybe in the general games community it's a little unknown because not everybody goes for fighting games, but clearly it's not like there's people saying the music is normal/bad, you can also visit metacritic scores and see the sounds score.

Euler Machado bro, by underrated I meant it doesn’t receive the recognition it deserves, which imo, should be beyond just praise found in fighting game forums. It also depends on where you live. I know the game is big in Latin Anerica, but I live in the United States, and the game is super niche even within the fighting game community, let alone the arranged compositions of the home console versions. A good metacritic rating doesn’t mean that it’s getting the recognition it deserves (such as much of the original Street Fighter 2 soundtrack), and that’s what I meant by underrated

Yeah Shinkiro's work was always amazing and fit KOF so well.. Would have been nice if his designs were used for the models in XIV. SNK to me was always one up on Capcom with their fighters, because their characters were just so much more interesting, and well done.. One of the designers even stated how they treated their characters like real people lol. There was so much thought and love given to fighters back in the day, that you do not see today, especially with the music, which showed you more of a character's personality.
