I wish all RPG games had such a satisfying looting system, I never get board of opening hidden secret chests in Skyrim and Fallout 4, but it does take a long time to loot an entire room compared to the system atomic Heart Gameplay uses! #ad

Looting absolutely can be fun, you've just got to a) have rewarding and worthwhile loot and b) tell a story with it.

Looting in Elder Scrolls games is a blast - pick pocketing, kicking items into dark corners, distracting shopkeepers away then selling him some of his own stuff back is a blast. And dont get me started about carrying pots and pans around to put on peoples heads.

I'd say this is more to do with the intractability of objects which i agree Bethesda has mastered! But the speed and tactility of Atomic Hearts looting and how it does not take you out the action just works!

Finished the game today. I think it’s good defo worth playing. It gets better the longer you play it. Some really good feature to it for sure. Great first outing.

On the Xbox at least it’s actually really annoying because you can miss the loot if you go too quickly for some reason. I have spent probably close to. 10-15 seconds on a single cabinet multiple times because my search says it has something for me but my loot gauntlet just won’t grab it.

Every damn game I have played. I play those games for all the containers, chests, shelves, cabinets, people's pockets... There is no better thing than taking all the cabbages and/or cheeses and then selling them back. Or eating them.

looting is boring unless the loot is always meaningful. we all loved skyrim because everything was lootable, even the grass. but theres no use in doing that, you really only need powerful items. and honestly, looting iron orex2 for hours on end is not fun or exciting gameplay either, yet we all love crafting. take a look at runecraft for example, you'd spend hours just smacking a tree to level up your wood smacking ability. it was both fun and boring at the same time. it was boring doing it, but fun when you got a level up. world of warcraft hired psychologists to analyze humans and found how to make a game more addictive, thats why it has a disclaimer during load screens that you should stop playing to keep yourself fresh so you dont get addicted. candy crush also had a psychologist help them make the game more addictive. for candy crush they found the best way was to create levels that were not random, but rather, completable puzzles. and so lets say you have 15 moves to clear the level, well its designed to take 16 moves. but only after you beat the first 20 levels or so. because that establishes that you feel confident in your ability to win the game, and now you're just 1 move from clearing this level, but guess what, they sell you extra moves for $1. So now you spend the dollar, you clear the level, then you beat the next 5 levels only to encounter another level that you failed to clear and only needed 2 more moves to do it. $2. Over a year period this adds up since its all of their users doing it. This is how candy crush created a game that was both addictive and financially profitable. For World of Warcraft they had some game design stream lining layouts but the main thing they did was level ups. They figured out that everytime you got a level up it released happy juice chemicals in your brain that made you crave more and thus you were rewarded and still wanted more, thats why early levels are so fast and easy to level up, that way you get many hits of happy brain juice and then it gradually slows down, can you guess why? Let me phrase it another way. If you want to get a cat to trust you, you give it some food and walk away. but gradually you start bringing the food closer and closer to you, the cat wants the food, and you gradually draw it closer and closer to you. they did the same thing, they know you want that level 42 level up, so they make it gradually harder to achieve, and they know you'll gradually want to do it. this is really important and i cant overstate it enough. The psychology is that they are feeding you constant streams of dopamine, and they know they can spread it out once they've got you hooked with the first 20 levels. This is also why you gain the most amount of power ups early in the leveling process. Dungeons and Dragons did the same thing with 5e, front loading all the classes with powerful abilities early on but then almost nothing later on, this is designed to get you hooked early then it slows down. So they hook you with dopamine for 20 levels of world of warcraft, then leveling slows down. They figured out that the more sensational the level up the stronger the dopamine hit, so they added sound effects and a visual shower of golden particles, then they give you a big number to represent your new level, plus things pop up on your screen telling you just how cool and special you are now. This is all a psychological manipulation to release more dopamine and keep you hooked on their game longer. So now you know a brief history of the psychological history of video games.

This mechanic like this game isn't great . You have to be holding down the button in the specific area for a specific amount of time it's very easy to miss stuff going to fast , worse it will pull shelves open so they look like u got the stuff but often you haven't cause u didn't hold long enough in the right spot even though it looks opened like empty shelves do

What they should do away with, if the game is a quick exploration game then they should do away with the searching animation. Nothing worse than having to go through an animation each and every time.

Looting is fun alright but you get stuck on everything and since the you can only save at few place forcing you to restart the level many time For me it became so bad that i just quit the game cause replaying the same level 5 time and some mob can dropkick you getting you stuck in a banch or even a plant and it happen quite offten i love this game otherwise just hopenthey fix this

He said feels everyone's playthrough would be pretty much the same so other than just the hateful decisions it's pointless.
