Hiya guys~ so I'm just writing this comment to say that since I have graduated Bard in 2020 I will no longer be answering questions in the comments of this video~ just because I'm not sure what has changed since I graduated so I don't want to give anyone any answers and be completely wrong. Please do email the school or look for any current students for any questions~ stay safe and love yall

This is so helpful! I’m looking at Bard College for 2020 and it was interesting to hear from someone’s experience that isn’t biased or anything. Everything about Bard sounds really good for me and your description of it was honest and sometimes funny! Thank you!!

Georgia Bruno Hiya! I’m really glad this video was helpful for you! I’m sorry to say that I don’t know too much about the music program because I am not a part of it, my friends who are part of the program mostly enjoy. I’ve heard that there are some pretty good teachers but that is about all I can tell you. Good Luck!

Hi Sheri, thank you so much for making this vid, it's super informative and I love how balanced you made this review, and not glorifying nor tearing down the school! I was just wondering if you meant to say the supermarkets are 5 minutes instead of 5 hours away in 17:12 .or if they're actually 5 hours away lol Thanks!! :)
@sheri_cstar3 жыл бұрын
oh that part was a bit of an exaggeration XD. The actual supermarket for groceries is like ten minutes away by shuttle. While the target in the slightly bigger town is like a thirty-forty minutues bus ride away.

The conflicting views thing might be a bad thing for you, but I think that’s a good thing. I think being stuck in a liberal bubble without any conflicting voice is kind of toxic politically.

Thank you for your video. The video - made from a perspective of your apparent "disappointment" in the school - seemed very subjective - which is not to say it wasn't a good video. But, I'm not so sure that other, less sensitive students would take issue with many of the things that bothered you (which is not to invalidate your experience). I kept saying to myself: This criticism could apply to many other schools wrt teaching styles, acclimation to the weather, political views of the students, etc. Comments on the isolated nature of the school, the occasional roaming of animals and lack of central air in the dormitories were good, objective observations, however.

It’s been a couple years since I’ve graduated now so I’m not sure if the food is the same, the wraps at the food place in campus center were really good! The cafeteria food was.. alright? Like it wasn’t great but it wasn’t horrible like I know some college campus food is

Hey yo, Im from Russia and I have the opportunity to get a Bard College diploma. How are y'all think about it? Is it worth it? Is the diploma in demand? And can I get a job anywhere in the USA? Thanks in advance everyone
@samantha-rg6bq3 жыл бұрын
A degree would definitely help you look better with employers, but its not necessary to make decent money. Degrees open up a lot of doors to get jobs in a lot of places, not necessarily everywhere. Make sure you to a lot, a lot of research before moving!

well dorms vary a lot so I can't say for sure what type of dorm to expect. Overall there were no major dorming issues for me . Bard is located in a rural foresty area so you are very close to nature while certain city luxuries will be hard to find. Hope this was helpful :)

@flotsamjetsam96103 жыл бұрын
@@didiermontagnier6114 You are very silly. First, Bard is a fine school. Second, it isn't expensive. (The school works hard to make it affordable, and depending on your offer, it can even be more affordable than a state school.) Third, liberal arts degrees are about learning to learn and refining one's mind, breadth, and depth. A person can go on to do just about anything starting with a liberal arts degree. "Job prospects" (whatever that means) will be just fine for those who attend Bard and who pay even the slightest bit of attention. People attend different schools for different reasons, and finding a "good fit" is as important as anything. You'll get out what you put in no matter where you go - be it a community college or Princeton -- and honestly down the road, almost no one cares where you went to college. That's not the point. The undergraduate degree is not "job training", though it will set one up for excellent job prospects and graduate school (which is far more important when it comes to "jobs" and networking). So - relax! Enjoy life, and don't be such a snark. :-)
