I think Swift is getting way too expensive now and this could kill it for me
@TheMediocreCyclistАй бұрын
Yeah, with the recent price increase I'm much more likely to use something else

I was able to run it on my phone (Samsung Galaxy A54) with no problems at all and cast to my TV. The graphics were surprisingly good. It linked to my Kickr Snap fairly well, although I had to restart it a couple of times to pair properly. Levels of resistance felt pretty similar to what I was getting previously with RGT. For what I want it for (solo rides to keep my fitness through the winter months), it's pretty much spot on.

They have a long way to go to be able to be a viable cycling App. Tried it with my Stages SB20, avatar does not move, no power recognition. Tried support, but all I got is thanks for letting us know.

That sucks. Did it not show as a connected device when you start? My HR monitor had a few issues, but it tends to with lots of things like bike computers and Zwift.
@hotwheels438 ай бұрын
Yes it was connected. HR was fine. No power. Cadence was ok. Turn the pedals and no movement.

How strange... Wonder how it works with other power meters

free is good for me. MyWhoosh would be on the secondary screen, and my MMO game will be on my main screen...hopefully
@KG780cАй бұрын
Been using it on Apple TV and it is great. Not one issue.
@TheMediocreCyclistАй бұрын
Looking at the specs needed to run it. It seems to be a lot lower for anything but Windows based PCs
@KG780cАй бұрын
@@TheMediocreCyclist They also have MyWhoosh Go for windows. It is less intensive and I was able to load it on my old laptop. I use it to create custom workouts because it is faster then on the Apple TV.

Solo rides are good and the maps are interesting. But the dynamics are ROUGH

I can see the frame rate is horrible. I’m reading elsewhere on PC this might be capped at 30 fps? Looks very jittery.
@PunkrockNoir-ss2pq4 ай бұрын
It depends on the graphics settings you use as well as the graphics card being used, did you not know that? Is this your first time using a computer?
@mwinfield19692 ай бұрын
I can't run it on my PC, so I run it on my phone and then use scrcpy on my laptop to see it. This means that I can use my linux laptop too.

I think the app itself is just poorly optimized in reality

MyWhoosh on pc is limited to 30 fps. On my gaming PC it's constant 30 fps

With the increase in price of Zwift, I might take a new look. But I doubt it would run on my laptop which I'd rather use than my PC. I do know they have a less performance based version for mobile and apple tv, but I haven't done enough research to know what's up with it
@s.alryaiqiАй бұрын
@@TheMediocreCyclist I had to buy another laptop because the old one didn't work with mywhoosh, and now everything is fine

@@TheMediocreCyclist , MyWhoosh go which is the trimmed down version is basically the same as the full fat version, but has less eye candy, I run full fat on my laptop i7 Six Core Processor 10750H (2.6GHz, 5GHz Turbo),16GB Corsair 2666MHz, GTX 1650 Ti

You need a pretty good graphics card to run this. I deleted the app after trying a few times with no joy.
@JustinCrediblename7 ай бұрын
what kind of GPU did you try it with?
@scottvessey9158 ай бұрын
I tried it last night, graphics performance was truly AWFUL. I tried switching the graphics modes - Low gave me 20 FPS but looked like an arcade game from the 1980s, Medium had lots of glitching/shadowing around my avatar, and High gave me as low as 6 FPS. This is on the same laptop which runs Zwift, RGT, and indieVelo really well. We haven't all got high-end gaming PCs in our garages.
@TheMediocreCyclist8 ай бұрын
Judging from what everyone is saying, it does seem the graphics and/or optimization is the biggest issue for many users. The graphics aren't actually that good considering the requirements. I have a hunch it's poorly implemented and you need a powerful pc to get over that hurdle
@JustinCrediblename7 ай бұрын
what's your system specs?
@TheMediocreCyclist7 ай бұрын
@@JustinCrediblename I only have a 1060gtx, but it shouldn't have to be an issue. The main problem is, the majority of users aren't gonna have a gaming computer for an exercise app, especially as lots might be using their turbo in the garage.
@JustinCrediblename7 ай бұрын
@@TheMediocreCyclist I'm not sure what a turbo is, but maybe it's about time that us fat gamers who feel like they are constantly having a mild heart attack to go onto craigslist and pick up a smart trainer. lol. Anyway, thank you for the data! I'm in the process of compiling a bunch of info about performance vs equipment and hopefully I'll be able to share that with the world once I'm done. I have three computers with different equipment, so that'll help with testing.

@@JustinCrediblename Turbo is a turbo trainer, or smart trainer. Allows you to connect your bike to a computer for these apps

The problem is for that money you can get a full gym membership, even after like zwifts "discount". And all these cycling apps have major issues unless you also want to buy new equipment. Many equipment stops being supported. Many don't work at all. Many don't work properly. Support is disgusting on every single 1 of these biking apps. The pool of people is minor on a lot of them. It has nothing to do with people wanting to save on toilet paper. It has everything to do with it simply being overpriced. That's why people are looking at the free options. I used to use wahoo rgt simply because it free. I for example also play football, padel and have a mini home gym. Paying a subscription while it's not your main sport is simply a waste. I much rather use that money to expand my homegym for example.
