Great reviews. Please keep them coming. As a heavy person getting back in shape, one of the considerations when looking at bikes is their rider weight limit. For example, the MYX weight limit is 350 pounds, the Stryde is 350 pounds, the Schwinn IC4 and Bowflex C6 are both 330 pounds (being essentially the same bike), and Peleton is 297 pounds. You may want to consider adding this piece of information into your reviews.

Great review as usual. I looked at the MYX bike but did not want to spend the money. My major requirements for a bike are a smooth ride, good range of resistance and the ability to do choreography during my ride. I've been riding for about 16 years and until my membership at a big nationally known gym, all the bikes I rode didn't have magnetic resistance or monitors that displayed cadence. So I'm used to watching the instructor's pedaling and matching the cadence. I'm also comfortable with gauging resistance by watching the instructor. I'm going to adjust and make sure I get a great workout whether I can match the instructor or not. So I am really happy with the Sunny 1805. I got it on sale for $465. It arrived in less than a week and I love it. I've been using the Peloton app and some cool instructors on YT. Thanks for the great video. I still like watching your reviews.

I've been ploughing through your video back catalogue studiously over the past few days. I have to say your content is fantastic and has been such a great help, IMO the best out there. Here in the UK the MYX Fitness isn't available or at least I can't find it or I would have went for it. You had me so close to pulling the trigger on the Peloton that I had one in my basket ready to go, that said your reviews of other comparable bikes and your honesty with what bang you get for your buck made me reconsider. I'm not a huge metrics guy and with the release of Apple Fitness + I didn't feel that it's a great time to be tying myself to one content provider. In the end I opted for the Echelon EX3 Max which I will use with the Echelon app for metrics and run my sessions from Peloton's digital app. I get my bike tomorrow and look forward to working towards those aims. Huge thanks for the clarity you brought to my decision making, hopefully I've opted for the best set up that works for me. 🤞🏻

Your review is really great! One thing I would add that I think is very important is that there are connectivity issues that a lot of people have - ourselves included. Which really stinks because we enjoy the workouts (we have the app on our phone), but we're unable to use the monitor because the video keeps freezing and it tells us to check our WiFi connection (which we've checked multiple times and tried many different things and it says the connection is excellent). After reading many many reviews, lots of others have the same problem. Customer service is tedious (I waited on phone for over an hour and still no one answered). We've emailed for 2 weeks with no resolution. Good bike IF you can get it work........and that seems to be a very big IF.

Thank you Bob and thank you for sharing that. I did not run into that problem at all. Thank you for the review. My experience with MYX has not been good. After much drama with the shipping company, XPO, my bike arrived this morning. The setup was lousy with one bent adjustment bolt and several nuts so loose that I hand tightened them before needing a wrench. I am not sure what else I will find. I found your review as I am searching for videos about setting up the bike. There is no live support from MYX. Very frustrating. You can see that MYX got cheaper than its competitors by cutting out customer service. Yikes! I doubt that I will be keeping my bike.
@Learnwithtravis3 жыл бұрын
Darn. Sorry to hear that Eric. Unfortunately, I see this too much for a lot of companies. What would be a good experience is ruined by XPO issues. MYX still decided to use them so it is on them, but this seems to happen too often. Hope things work out but don't like to hear that.

My biggest question is - is it FUN? Are the workouts fun, engaging and something I'd look forward to? I see lots of reviews about the quality of the bike, resistance technology, growing library of classes. BUT - are the instructors entertaining? Fun? This is the biggest thing I hear about the variety of Peloton's library - the fun factor and amazing playlists. I'm hoping the MYX delivers on the fun and engaging factor. I just ordered it a week ago and am wondering about this aspect of it since I don't see it mentioned in most reviews. Enjoyed your review otherwise and it was really helpful and informative in my buying decision for MYX.
@Learnwithtravis4 жыл бұрын
This is a little tricky to answer because it depends on what type of instructors you enjoy. Some platforms are club-like, high intensity, chill, build a connection with the instructor, and all sorts of other types. Peloton by all means offers the best variety because they have so many instructors with different personality and styles. For MYX I would describe the atmosphere\instructor as clean, well lit, Zen or Spa, and chill vibe. Personally, I thought they did a very good job and I enjoyed that style a lot. But if you want flashing lights or scream at you type instructors, this might not be the best for you. Hope that helps!

@@Learnwithtravis thank you. I can do without club thumping yelling. Really what I am after though is fun and engaging. Don't want to be bored or lackluster. Travis - great video. I think MYX will be quite pleased with your recommendation. How was the seat comfort compared to the other bikes? I ordered this MYX bike last May and cancelled when it missed by the shipping date by well over a month (September) . I decided instead to go with NordicTrack S15i - primarily for the iFit experience and visual outdoor bike rides - and believe it was a better decision for me at the same price point...just with a slightly smaller screen. But I did have a broken motor and console with my NordicTrack bike - which were eventually replaced for free. I also purchased a better seat. As a bonus, the NordicTrack bike has an awesome fan and an incline and decline mechanism which makes this bike more versatile for me and fun to use. That being said, I do hope MYX does well once they work out their distribution issues. They have wonderful customer service. But their 'zen-like' classes might bore me very quickly.

Glad you were able to get the NordicTrack issues straightened out and are enjoying the bike! I actually think the seat quality is pretty good! The Proform Studio Bike Pro has a 10 inch tablet built in, and is "free" with a 3-year iFit membership. The Proform Studio Pro 22, looks to be almost the same as the Proform Studio, but with a 22 inch inch monitor and is slightly more expensive. I have been using a Sunny bike (1805) with a Peloton app, but will probably send it back because it's likely defective and making too much noise "going out of the saddle." Do you think the resistance is strong enough to get anyone completely out of breath and over 160 heart rate? How would you compare the max resistance to the Keiser M3i and Echelon 4S or highers? Resistance is the most important for me. I need a quality bike that has very high resistance to leave room for progress.
@Learnwithtravis Жыл бұрын
Maybe, maybe not. I would stay away from this one. It is friction resistance instead of magnetic. So while you could really clamp it down and make it hard, it becomes much less fluid than others. Probably not the best fit for what you are trying to achieve.
@bmp713 Жыл бұрын
@@Learnwithtravis Thank you so much for your responses. High resistance is by far the most important factor for me. Once I get through those videos, I have to sell them before my wife kills me! lol Forgot to comment of the Bowflex Velocore! Ordered it a long time ago and very excited to test it out. Have not heard anything on shipping yet.

Thanks for the video. Very informative. I recently suffered a bike accident, and will most likely be mostly riding on bike trails. Is the assembly as easy as it sounds? Del Sutton

That is for the length and the monitor barely goes past the bottom of the bike. So I am not sure sure on the exact numbers but monitor or not, it is going to be close to that number.

Hey Travis! Love your reviews! Question for you! I’ve ordered the Peloton + after watching a ton of your reviews, but it’s not going to be here till April 19th 😓. Do you think it’s worth the wait! In your opinion of course.
@Learnwithtravis3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Christopher! I actually think most of the bikes I have reviewed are very good bikes. My opinion is it comes down to finding the bike that has the features that best match your exercise personality. That being said, the Bike+ is one of the best out there as far as overall build quality, bike features, UI\Content features, content quality, and end to end product. After all those videos, if the Bike+ is the one that talked to you.... it is worth the wait. A very very good bike. Hope that helps!

Is there an option to do an “open ride” or Quick Start type of option or is it just classes?
@Learnwithtravis4 жыл бұрын
So sorry for the delay, I had to power up and test that (I have a lot of bikes from the reviews). Most bikes do have a ride only mode and that is so they can display stats but nothing else. As this bike does not show resistance or cadence, there would be nothing to show in a "ride only" mode. So really, if you want to "just ride", you can hop on and do it. You don't need to select a screen for that. I did look though, and could not find one. They also just introduced scenic and other informational type rides, so you can put that on if you want instructor free workouts. Hope that helps!

These videos have been super helpful, I'm so glad I found them! Thank you for doing this. One question: I thought I read somewhere that the MYX also does not show speed and distance, is that right? I might be able to live without cadence and resistance but I really want to see speed and distance. I think most bikes have that, or am I mistaken? Thank you again!
@Learnwithtravis4 жыл бұрын
So glad to hear the videos are helping you out! Thanks Maggie! You are correct that they do not provide speed and distance. With MYX they make it less about reaching certain milestones and more about the exercise. Meaning they focus more on helping you get the most out of the exercise and paying attention to heart rate data. Like I say in my videos, when it comes to these bikes, it is most important to find the one that best matches to you and what will keep you coming back. Hope that helps!

@@Learnwithtravis Thank you so much for getting back to me, Travis! I've been reading and watching everything I can find in making this decision but I have to say that I'm scared to pull the trigger on any of them based on the amount of negative reviews of customer service for all of these brands right now. It seems that the demand is having a huge impact not only on delivery times but also on how customer service is handling questions, complaints and problems. Honestly it's scaring me. Wondering if others in your audience have particular experience with any of these companies.
@Learnwithtravis4 жыл бұрын
No problem Maggie! Completely valid feeling you are having. I learn a lot of from the comments people leave on my videos. I can tell you that you are right and basically every single company is struggling to deliver their product and getting a lot of complaints about shipment delays, installation issues, and support difficulties due to demand. But outside of the demand pinch that companies are in and the impact that has caused, complaints for most companies are pretty minimal. The exception being NordicTrack. From what I have seen, as long as you understand their may be a wait to get your product... once people get it they have been very happy. As your comment is on the MYX video, I will say I had to reach out to their support and I got to them quickly and they were very easy to work with. It is difficult times for a lot of these companies because of demand, staffing problems due to Covid, and supply chain issues... but most of them are still the same quality company they were before. Just challenged a little. Hope that helps and you are able to figure out the best option for you!

Can I use peloton app with this bycle
@Learnwithtravis4 жыл бұрын
Think of the Peloton App as a content provider, like KZbin. They have many instructor led courses you can follow along with and really can use any indoor cycling bike to ride along with. You could purchase a cadence and heart rate monitor to add functionality and pair to the Peloton App. But yes, you could use Peloton with it.

No problem at all! Honestly, I am not 100 percent sure yet. I have at least a couple other videos before the Stryde. I also have some bikes on the way that if they come in will go to the front of the list. I am hoping to get to the Stryde sooner than later though.

can you add a cadence sensor and pair with this bike or the app/screen? I have a cheap but solid spin bike and added a cadence sensor and an iPad mount and I use the Peleton app. Eventually, my bike will probably wear out or I might want to upgrade. I really like knowing the cadence at least. my Apple Watch gives me the heart rate information
@Learnwithtravis4 жыл бұрын
You could add a cadence sensor and display it on your phone or a tablet, but that is not part of the MYX right now. Hopefully they add that over time, but no, I don't think there is a way directly into the MYX tablet.
@androidfarmer88634 жыл бұрын
Good review... but.... No cadence & resistance... no sale. Cannot imagine why they’d leave out such important metrics. Add in the lack of magnetic resistance and what seems to be very limited connectivity to other apps such as Zwift.... pass.

do you think this is a good starter bike?
@Learnwithtravis4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. There are a lot of bikes that could be great starter bikes and a lot depends on how you want to use it and what you want to get out of it. This one is comparable to a Peloton Bike + in that it has studio & scenic rides but also has the monitor that rotates for off bike workouts. You get a lot of those high end features and variety without the Peloton price tag. Like mentioned, you lose a few things but for the costs savings versus what you get, I think this is a great option.

Monthly subscription required for the content?
@Learnwithtravis4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, 29 dollars a month as of right now. I don' think you will get away from that with any of these. It costs too much to produce content and make it available to do it for free, but it is a better monthly cost than a lot of them at 39.

Great video! I was actually considering this bike but there were no reviews at the time, so I ended up going with the IC4. I did hear that rather than focus on cadence they focus on something called the MYX score. How does that work? Do you think it's a accurate way to measure fitness gains?
@Learnwithtravis4 жыл бұрын
Hope you are loving the IC4! They have an assessment ride you can do that uses the heart rate monitor to watch rise and recovery of heart rate related to ride changes. They use this to provide a score of overall cardiovascular health. Hard to say how accurate it is but I do imagine it is a good way to see progress and if your overall health is improving.

As someone who has been waiting almost 8 weeks and keeps getting changing stories, ineptitude from MYX and their logistics partner XPO, all the stories of shoddy assembly, a mountain of BBB complaints, monitors that don't work and won't connect, I say DON'T, JUST DON'T. Do your diligence! Don't make the same mistake I did. They don't even have a phone number for support! And their 30 day guaranty? Know this - it will cost you $250 to send it back if you don't like it. Buy something else! I repeat - DON'T, JUST DON'T!
