We got the same set up, bike and everything. Is your engine a one piece cylinder? My is a one piece cylinder FM80 or GT-5 66cc engine. I've herd people saying that the one piece design isn't good but I have had really good luck with my engine, never left me walking. I recently put in a windowed piston with a reed valve with a bigger after market ignition coil and it became a torque monster. I'm thinking about getting a balanced crank sometime soon.. Cool video dude.

I had good and bad one piece and the same goes with the split ones as well. It all depends on who was putting it together at the time of manufacturing. They have young people who are not experienced and they people who are over qualified for putting these cheap Chinese engines together. Always take it apart and see if you're piston is facing the right way and clear any debris in the ports. They are all sand casted molds and are poorly done so. There is a reason why they are so cheap. . .

the engine stays revved high after removing throttle, it sounds like an air leak. spray carb cleaner or brake cleaner on the inttake where it meets the carb. that is a very common air leak spot. if that is the case try getting an O ring for the carb or just try to tighten it a bit

Should cut the stock muffler header off and put it on the end of the zeda80 pipe with a rubber hose to connect them and a clamp for support, just drill a few holes in the baffle on the muffler first.

You can get a silencer for it on amazon amd it would be a lot easier that way (personally how i see it) and really the right way to do it would be to weld all of it. But im not gonna put a silencer on mine because i'd lose power

@@TanBoiIndustries Yes a slip on muffler is better but 2 stroke dirtbikes mufflers slip on and work perfectly fine, I had a YZ85 pipe with the stock muffler and it worked great without a power loss and only a noise loss which was very pleasing for the ears but with the muffler on it actually increased the power a bit. Another thing to note is that the stinger tailpipe on your pipe is way too big to create a good back pressure that the 2 stroke engine needs, a muffler on that expansion pipe will increase power instead of hurt the power. 🚴💨💨💨

Nah, just buy a generic silencer off Ebay for 20 bucks, I got one that has proper fibreglass stuffing and the correct pipe size to match up to the 25mm/1 inch outlet of the mz65 clone. The stock muffler is 19mm so it'll restrict the flow and defeat the purpose.

Sounds to me your jets where a touch rich. I realize I'm a bit late on commenting. My question is did you adjust your jets, and what carb are you running. I've got a Zeda triple 40, boost port, cylinder reeds/intake, 24mm mikuni flat side cab, same exhaust. If I could find the right jets I could hit 50 55 when I'm on the pipe, oh ya 10/36 gearing on a 26in tire, GT outpost rigid steel 21" frame.

Well if i remember correctly I had a stock speed nt on it. I tried adjusting the jets but i was fighting an air leak on the intake. Im running a stock pk80 right now with a stock phantom 85 reed and stock carb. Still on the same pipe but might switch over because im getting tired of the 4 stroking whenever i find s cruising speed

Hello nice video. Since you live on a hill, you can use the hill going down to start up your engine instead of going down that path in the beginning and then having to turn completely around and go back. That will save you time plus also save you wear and tear on your clutch pads having to pull in the clutch and hold it while you coast down the hill on your street. Just use the hill on your street to start up the bike. Also, you said the pipe was faster but you didn't say anything about how it felt when you were riding the bike. Did the pipe burn your leg? Did your leg rub against the pipe when you were pedaling??..

Hey thanks for the comment. Yeah Ive gotten my bikes running a lot better (where they start very fast from a pedal even up my driveway) so I really haven't had an issue since. The pipe didn't burn my leg or get in my way, but I will say with how my seating position was, it did make a ring oil stain on my inner thigh, but I don't think that will really apply for much anyone else since my seat setup is so custom and different. I had no issues with the pipe other than that bit.

When you were talking about you choke,,.,I have never had to choke my engine to crank it ,,out of t h e 3 different engines that iv had none of them had to be choked to start,,,I live in southern La. That might have something to do with it and it doesn't matter how cold it is ,,they fire right up ,no problem

Hey dude, no disrespect taken at all! Its interesting to hear about other peoples experiences with these motors and everything. Im still running the pipe and it seems to be doing decently, even though i have a real mz65 pipe ready to go on it when i get the motor moved to a new frame i have in the works. Parts from china are pretty hit and miss but sometimes you get a good one and the whole thing works. Good luck to you and your bike!

Its much louder tham stock but you can put a silencer on it if you need to. I listened very closely for the 4-stroking and whatnot. Right now I can't even drive mine because the sprocket is not mounted correctly, therefore the chain keeps trying to derail. I think my rim needs to be trued a little bit as well. And that's where it's nice to be able to discuss with other people who have done many of these. I'm a certified small engine mechanic therefore I'm good with the motors but the rest of it is a learning curve for me

Low end from what i remember, wasnt too good of a high end because after mid range rpms it would hit a wall of rich 4 stroking. But i never bothered to tune that out of it. Still a good pipe for the price though.

air fuel ratio is too rich to make it leaner you can take the needle out which is on top of your carby where the throttle cable goes and move the clip on the needle up, i have my clip on the highest notch if it still 4 strokes u will need to put a smaller main jet

You need a Reed valve and a slightly bigger carb with a muffler that has more airflow than stock you need more airflow to your Intake and get a mutable jet kit for the carb and tune it out. I've been building gas bicycle since before these cheep engines existed. When I was young I built one with a 50cc motorcycle engine from a pit bike it was to fast for a bicycle frame. Almost shook it apart and me as well lol

The seat was a stock seat that comes on the bike, but the seat post was custom bent with an oxy acetylene torch at a 90 degree angle then had a bit of filler weld put on it. You could buy one from somewhere but its gonna be hard to find one i bet (from my own experience trying to find one) so you'd be better off building one yourself or having someone else do it if you dont have the tools

Any kind of expansion chamber/tuned pipe is better than a stock muffler. In my opinion you're best option for cheaper would be an MZ65 clone or Real MZ65.

Take a steel seatpost, heat it up orange hot, then bend it a little past 90 degrees, and fill the inside and outside with weld. Thats how I did it. Too bad the bike got stolen.

Uhh i think at that point in time i was using either a 68 or something but the thing just hasnt ever run right because of an intake leak that ive been unable to fix for the past few months of trying. Its a stock carb, and just the pipe has been done to it. In my opinion I'd try running something richer like maybe a 71 or higher since ive heard that expansion chambers make it more lean. Im not too entirely sure about how accurate that is but you'll know if you look at your plug and check that against a chart of how lean or rich it is.

@@TanBoiIndustries what i did for an airleak i have an offset intake and the welds are garbage, so I used plumbers thread tape over the welds then I wrapped the whole intake with black electrical tape to cover and hold the plumbers tape. It fixed my airleak

Different places requires different jet setup due to different heights above sea level and temperatures etc... u need to try different jets to find one that will suit your specific location...

@@TanBoiIndustries widen the ports 1mm raise the exhaust 1/2mm barely raise it See how that does also brisket the piston (raise it top dead center and mark the bottom piston hanging inside intake cut that out smooth down all the edges of port and piston where ya ground or filed. Adds a little power
