Great video, as usual! Love your headband. 😊 I didn’t know the layering trick before, but have been doing it for the last few weeks with new SR elixir and Ilia Base Face Milk I already had. Now I know the right order and will start letting the layers dry in between. I learn something new every time you do these! Thank you so much.

I do multiple layers of essence too, it really adds a lot. Even before serum I add d’alba spray- also use d’Alba spray over the top of my makeup to meld makeup together-wait for that to dry and then apply setting spray if needing longwear. In fact I don’t wear all of the glossy, luminous, glowy (etc) makeup products, I don’t need to because my skin glows to the gods. Layering hydrating serum is a game changer-great to use under eye too if you’re prone to milia or if you have a lot of dryness, texture, two layers or serum with dry down between & then a light weight eye cream/moisturizer-just a tiny bit. A tiny but because the under eyes don’t absorb product the same as the rest of the face so the undereye can build up & create puffiness if too much thick product is applied and of course thick products can cause milia. Love: HaruHaru Wonder Black Rice essence Dr Andrew Weil Origins Mega Mushroom Relief & Resilience COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence D’Alba First Spray Serum Sorry for the novel 😂 skincare is so fun to share about ❤

Thank you for explaining essences, how to use them and when to use them in the routine! I never really understood them and I actually have some already!! Cereve makes a hydrating essence/toner that has ceremides in it too. some of the ones I have are sticky and I didn't use them for that reason. But now I wonder if makeup will work better on top of them. Going to have to dig them out and start experimenting!! Great video!

Michelle, I’m just going to put this out there to see whether others are interested. I would love to see you make up someone 10-15 years older than you. You have beautiful skin and, from my perspective, you look flawless. When in my 50’s I had freckles but my skin wasn’t as loose as it is now that I’m older. Plus, the purple under the eyes is more pronounced and the lids droop more. When older do we use a lighter touch with makeup or heavier? In other words, what are the adaptations for us queenagers?

Of course, use an essence and then wait 20 min or more for skin to become more dry, then apply your tretinoin. If you wake up red or irritated, skip essence at night, use AM only, as Tret works best on dry dry skin ❤

Hi Michelle I have a 17 year old son Gabriel Michael, has really fair skin, and I'm constantly on him to wear sunscreen, but he won't have it. I wish he would get on board. The sunscreens I buy have no fragrance and blend super easy like a moisturizer. Today, I went on Amazon and couldn't find my favorite sunscreen. Do you know anything similar to Missha soft touch Sun Milk SPF 50?

I know of it but havent used it. Men/boys are funny. They claim they can “feel” spf or skincare and hate the feeling. Supergoop makes a matte spf, good for men, so does Naturium, UV Reflect, or have you tried Biore UV? Its a watery spf and on amazon

One thing to keep in mind is that people with skin barrier issues really should avoid hyaluronic acid. It’s the absolute worst! It destroys skin. It’s pulling the water from deeper layers up to the surface which is why you feel immediate results but it’s at the cost of destroying deeper layers of the skin. It can also stress the cellular matrix and cause damage. One of the things estheticians do to help stressed skin is tell people to avoid the HAs. It’s basically crack for the skin, and people feel an immediate “high” on the surface so they buy things. It’s a marketing gimmick. And it makes skin dry so then you are trapped in a cycle of using and buying more products!
@valtomaso9762 ай бұрын
When you say ‘double cleanse’ are you referring to washing your face twice in a row?
@maturemakeupmasterclass2 ай бұрын
Yes and no, first step is oil cleanser or cleansing balm, something emollient to break up makeup and SPF. Second step is a gentle foaming or cream cleanser, something to ensure its all washes away and clean enough for skincare to come ❤
