In this video we look at some of unique traditionally-made N Gauge model locomotives that would lead to the creation of the 3D-printed ‘Newman Miniatues’ range of models.

These are very impressive scratch builds - if they were in a more traditional scale - to think these are n gauge is incredible. - you deserve more praise in this community

That's very kind, thank you.

These are amazing models truly art pieces, where do you get the motors / gears from I've thought about scratch building some of my own but am having trouble finding suitable gears and motors.

Thanks. I usually use rtr chassis when motorising - either choosing a suitable prototype or more commonly fitting in a coach or van to give the illusion of power.

Honestly, I'd be astounded if they were in 0 gauge. To think they are in N is unbelievable - you even motorized them!

Thanks. Many are free-rolling with powered coaches/vans, but a few do indeed have a motor in them somewhere!

@@dr.robertojauregui2069 Hi; thanks. These particular models are just for demonstration, but many kits can be found at www.shapeways.com/shops/newman-miniatures

If you started selling Aveling & Porters with working flywheels and cranks, as 3d Printed Scratch Aids, I'd buy one faster then you can say 'Shapeways.'

Working flywheel might be a bit much for 3D (at this stage at least!), but an Aveling engine is certainly on the cards...

Are there any models in this video that you, as the creator, wish you could improve on in any way?

Is NBR 224 'The Diver' still on sale?
@newmanminiatures Жыл бұрын
These particular models are traditionally-made one-offs, presented just to show the background to my current 3D items. No. 224 has yet to be developed for 3D printing, but if there is enough demand I can look into this.
