That scene with Prowl has always disturbed me the most. It looks like he was trying to scream out in pain but was unable to do so since his internal organs were melting.

One thing that particularly strikes me about this scene is the sheer cruelty of the Autobots' death: Ironhide and Ratchet are rapidly shot until they fall, we get a closeup of Prowl's pre-mortem agony as he spits smoke the way people spit blood in war movies, Megatron shoots wounded and helpless Ironhide dead at point-blank range with a cheesy oneliner. And that's not to mention how cool the movie itself is with all this going by the music.

I agree on that. Granted the movie was supposed to introduce a new toy line (which failed cause the kids wanted Optimus only, cause he's the GOAT (imo)), but had the plot been a more personal one between Prime and Megatron, with Unicron still involved, it I think this flick would be a masterpiece. I think Rise of the Beasts took that idea and ran with it between Prime and Scourge, which I think actually worked.

It might have been years of war, or a theory is he didn't die, just injured cause he does show up once in season 3 and in Dark Awakening they mention Ironhide, Ratchet, Prowl, but no Brawn, only Huffer. So my theory is after tye shuttle is exposed you see Huffer as Kup asks "What's that darn fool doing?!" The Autobots scout the wreckage, and find the fallen ship along with a weakened but still alive Brawn. Huffer covers him as a Decepticon (maybe Megatron) flys around and shoots at him, but Huffer takes the blast for him and dies. The Autobots take Brawn back to the city and repairs take a while since the city got wrecked. That's not official or Canon but it could explain it

I loved the angle of that scene too. How he's using his last bit of heroic strength to stop them, and Megatron just looks downwards to blast him. "Such heroic nonsense"...Look up "savage" in the dictionary, and you will find this scene.

Cool little detail: Ratchet was the Autobot's medic and always healed the guys who were wounded. He cared deeply about the well-being of his comrades. When Ironhide gets hit, it distracts Ratchet to the point where he's unable to defend himself.

One thing that I absolutely loved about this, as a kid, was that there were actually casualties! I was amazed that they actually displayed realistic consequences of combat. I just absolutely loved the fact that they were like...OK,...we know you know that death happens in real life, so screw it...we'll show it. Like for this one movie they were like...ok..We're not gonna condescend these kids.

Right totally realistic. Like how the 4 best autobots suddenly couldn't hit 1 decepticon at point blank range. Still it was a cool scene. But the cons should have gotten 1 casualty here. It would have been a good time for Skywarp to die.

There's a few things i found interesting in this scene. - Brawn ready to punch/Charge agains the decepticons knowing that he is the Tank here. Sadly for him, megatron's transformation was TO fast for him and imposible to Dodge. - Prowl giving his best reaction Shot ALMOST killing one of the Constructicons (if only he hit him maybe Autobot city would have been ok without Devastator's attacks). - iron Hide not giving up just to mess with megatron. - if only ratchet wasn't here and wheeljack survived. Optimus would a had a good chance to live.

😮 well I’m glad we got to see the autobots at least put up a brave effort to fight the Decepticons regardless of the odds. They certainly still can’t aim for the life of me just like Stormtroopers in Star Wars can’t hit anything barely either but It was a swift and brutal end to four of my favorite Autobots from the g1 series and I was abit shocked that the Autobots were just dying off so much at the hands and gunfire of the Decepticons and they were losing the war by 2005 as well made it more impactful and then of course when Megatron killed Optimus Prime and later became Galvatron and kills Starscream well I’d say Megatron/Galvatron had a pretty high body count during the Great War

All that trash talk in the beginning about "busting some Decepti-chops...", and Ironhide couldn't even hit Mixmaster...WHO WAS CROSS GUARDING IN THE OPEN!
