ശിവജ്‍ഞാനമെന്ന തമിഴ്നാട്ടുകരിക്ക് കേട്ടാൽ പോലും മനസിലാകാത്ത ഭാഷയായിരുന്നു മലയാളം. പിന്നീടവർ മലയാളം നന്നായി പഠിച്ച് ദേവരാജൻ മാഷിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടഗായികയായി. പ്രിയസഖി ഗംഗേ, ചന്ദ്രകളഭം ചാർത്തി ഉറങ്ങും തീരം, ഇന്നെനിക്ക് പൊട്ടു കുത്താൻ... എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഹൃദയസ്പർശിയായ ഒരുപിടി ഗാനങ്ങൾ അവർ മലയാളികൾക്കു വേണ്ടി ആലപിച്ചു. ആ ഗാനമാധുര്യമാണ് ഇന്ന് നേരെ ചൊവ്വെയിൽ. ചലച്ചിത്ര പിന്നണിഗാനരംഗത്ത് 45 വർഷം പിന്നിടുന്ന പി. മാധുരി.
