Thanks for the tip of me being off by a couple months with the mobile releases. As far as the Japanese Ad goes, are you sure it was before the manga? They both seem to be related to Crash bandicoot 2? How do you know which one came first?

​@@HyperTomoose Just did some research. I can't find the date of the Japanese ad, but the manga released in December 1997 (the same month and year as the Crash 2 JP release). According to Mark Cerny, Fake Crash was CREATED for the japanese ad. Bandipedia says that his first appearence was in the Crash 2 JP ad but there's no source to back up that claim. So it's actually possible that the manga came first. (I will edit my first comment to make it clear that it's uncertain if the ad came first or not)
