Hi Mike , looks like you and Robin had a good and safe trip. Those were some nice pictures of the Grand Canyon. Looks like you got some nice pieces of rail equipment there. You have some good ideas for the layout as you go forward. I would like to wish you a Happy Father’s Day and a Happy Birthday. Thanks for sharing. Have a good week. 😎😎

Mike I used to have one of these, dont remember what happened to it though. for Ryan, the red cross uses volunteers for photography and videography. each chapter has board members, made up of local companies, ours in allentown, has olympus on its board. it is a great way to learn and meet people.

Hey Mike. Happy Birthday. My sister shares your birthday. Those overland models are beautiful, can't wait to see them after you paint them. I can't argue with you about that ditcher, it's beautifully detailed. As always I enjoyed this update and can't wait for your next video.

Happy Birthday and Father’s Day! Great update. Loved that you got to Flagstaff, I spent most of my early years there. So Wapatki Nat’l Monument and Walnut Canyon and of course the Grand Canyon were seen many times. Cool shot of foreign power (CSX) in front of the Purina plant. Many friends and parents worked there.

Happy birthday/father's day Mike. I made the drive from Las Cruces to Silver City (via Lake Valley), then from Silver City to just south of Flagstaff last year over 2 days, it is a long drive from Silver City to Alpine, but such a pretty drive. I love that part of the world. Congrats on the grandkid's endeavors, that must especially be a blast for Gavin.

Hi Mike. Just looked at your video 66. Belated happy birthday to you. I have an Overland ditcher in N scale that I got several years ago. I haven't painted it as I like the brass finish. It looks like you have a lot of work to do on your layout. It also sounds like the boys will be a great help to you and Robin. They seem to have their future pretty well laid out also.

Dear Mike, happy belated birthday! Beautiful model spreader and ditcher you got there. Curious for the paint jobs. Cool to see the set up with the buildings. Think you’re right on the scrap yard having to move. Love those ice docks, question is though if they’re still period appropriate? Maybe a derelict or abandoned version of the dock will give it a ‘second life.’ In addition, some street running will definitely add to the overall perspective. Or, some dilapidated track partly through the residential area. Sort of leading to a location which used to be an industrial customer, but is now being developed. Anyhow, cool pics from your trip. Awesome story about your grandsons. Mom and Pop hobby shop indeed! Cheerio

Hi, I too have the ditches…..not painted. I had a friend that worked on the ATSF. He had some pictures of one of the work trains he was on some where in the Amarillo area in Texas. I was fascinated by the side-dump cars and the Jordan spreader in use on that trip. I was able to build the dump car with operating cylinders on both sides so that the car can be photographed in whatever pose desired. The Jordan spreader came next…….During its use the spreader was painted black….my model matches…later I saw a picture of it in blue. In his batch of photos, we found an image of a Burro crane…..That too was build as part of the work train I was attempting to recreate………All these pieces were built in plastic. I’d share the with you, but, don’t know how to get them to you if you were interested in seeing them. Happy railroading.
