Thank you very much for your reponse! You're right! The hobby offers so many opportunities, techniques and materials to deal with. We can combine the passion for trains, landscapes, vegetation, structures in a model railroad layout - and some ideals and imagination 😉. The work that has been done on this layout is really great. Having lived in the desert it is very realistic. But - Maybe I am just too critical, but videos of trains going by do nothing to show the complexity of the layout. Just one long shot that shows the layout from end to end would be great.

Nice layout, BUT it is not any where close to Sonora Pass. Which is up around 8000 - 9000 ft in the Sierra Mountains in CA. Covered in pine and or Fir trees and at the very top is above the tree line. Palm trees do not exist there.
