Photo Charters are a strange event. You spend lots of money well in advance to forget about the event. When the time comes, your organizer sends you updates, building up the hype and you slowly grow excited. For my first experience with HTP, I had signed up for a wild two-day charter on two of Pennsylvania's shortlines. Sunday saw an anticipated return to the Strasburg Rail Road, with Norfolk & Western 475 billed as the star attraction. The 4-8-0 would be powering two mixed freights, one short and one long. Canadian National 89 makes several appearances in this video as well. As for locations, it is safe to say there is no stone that has been left unturned, but it didn't matter, as some of these locations are even rarer thanks to tightened security. If you're a fan of the Strasburg, you'll know and love the scenes presented, and if you're not, enjoy some locations I had visited for my first time as well!
For those of you with keen ear for whistles, N&W 475 wears a Southern Pacific 6 Chime and 89 dons a Pennsylvania Railroad Banshee.
