My wife is very supportive of my solo trips which can last a couple of months. But, to travel with my wife on her own bike and staying/eating in great hotels and eateries would be a dream come true. You are a lucky man. Enjoyed the video needless to say.

Great video and information. I've just decided today to do a fly/hire trip for my birthday in May. Landing at Faro and hiring a Triumph Speed Twin from Soulful Bikes. My plan is to spend 6 days riding up to the Duoro Valley and back. Can't wait!

I did a lot of longest roads, Port Augusta to Darwin, Darwin to Broome to Perth, Perth to Port Augusta, Melbourne to Sidney, Brisbane to Cairns, Cairns to Coocktown and so on. A complete round trip of Australia and a coupe of times straight thru the continent. The N7 in France or the Route Napoleon. And so on. There are a lot of longest routes every country has them.

@@John_Neves Yes the Romantische Straße in Germany : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romantic_Road, the A1 in the UK : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A1_road_(Great_Britain). In Belgium we don't have long roads, neither in Holland or Luxemburg. Spain and France are good I did a lot of driving there as Germany, Austria and Switzerland. I am not familiar with Italy or Portugal and that is the reason I follow your channel.
@John_Neves3 жыл бұрын
@@Jay_Speed Fantastic man! The A1 i have already done on a Scotland trip. Not much to say really :) Romantische Route is on our list :) We are actually planning Spain, "Ruta De La Plata", so that should be the next. But i´ll be having some smaller roads in between. Thanks for following the channel. I hope it stays interesting for you 😉👍 If you do remember any other "Longest Road" please, do get back to me ;)

@@John_Neves A route we did years ago every year was from Kufstein in Austria to Hermagor Pressesger-See over the Grosclocner. We stayed there for a week. In those years it was a nice drive. Don't now of it still is. Otherwise we have some really nice routes in Luxemburg, but yes it is a small country. Every year we go there for a long weekend of driving.

This is a find. I live in Lagos for a fair bit of the year. Have done for the last 10 years. H&B Orbit would be my choice of luggage. N22: I have heard about this road but never ridden it as I usually head to Spain for my trips. That peg broke too easily. Really disappointing to scratch a new bike. I knocked my B-King over with my swing-over garage door some years back. 1,500 km is some bike trip when you've just passed your test. With a surname like Neves, are you half Portuguese?
@John_Neves3 жыл бұрын
Hey there🙂 Glad you enjoyed the video. It is indeed a great ride 👍 We're actually planning Spain for our next trip and video. Anything you would recommend? It would have to be a large known route though 😉 We're thinking the Ruta de la Plata.... seems nice. Yeah... it was a bummer to damage a new bike, but hey, she's learning so i guess it's just part of the process. Surname: Portuguese parents, raised in England and moved over to Portugal some time ago. Take care man 👍👌

@@John_Neves I could tell by your English you must have spent a long time there. I am from Yorkshire but lived most of my working life in London. Spain: the west side is very nice. Hey there 👋 Thanks for watching 👍 This is one road mind you. Not a highway, not a freeway. It's just a road with the designation N2. Usually long routes are formed of various roads with many different designations, that's what makes this one a little different. Are the ones you mention also simple roads? Or are they highways and sets of roads?
