Well, after 15 years riding shaft driven bikes, now I went back to a chain... and as a former user of chain lube and it´s usual gunk, I have to say that heavy duty oil it´s the best option. It won´t make a mess (well, it flings but not crazy), it won´t attract so manyn dirt, it can be cleaned with ease, the chain can be degreased faster... I clean and oil the chain every 500km, more or less. Very happy with the results. To proper clean the chain I´m using "WD40 chain degreaser", works really well, but I suppose normal WD40 will do. Even you can use the heavy duty oil for cleaning, or just engine oil. Put it on the chain, scrub, and it´s clean again, no effort... To oil the chain again I use a rubber oiler designed for cooking. You put it upside down, and slightly "paint" the chain with the thing. Clean the excess with some paper or cloth, and have a beer.

I can confirm all those noises with my Tiger 660. And also at 0:55 when you turn the key you can gear a clack sound fron the fuel pump. Mine also does this everytime.

I've got this on a 2016 R1200GS. Road - I ride for enjoyment and this is perfect for dry road tomfoolery. I don't push my luck in the rain as there is just no reason to do so. I've roadraced in the past and, yes, on a full race rain tire - I could get a knee down and raise hell. On the street - I just get from point A to B without trying to set any lap times..... It's never squirmed in the rain unless I got stupid with it. Off road - It's OUTSTANDING for dirt roads, gravel roads, blown-out (dry) fire roads. It's also great at wet dirt and gravel roads. If the stone content is the surface is hight, it traverses fine. Light mud - it will get you through. Deep, thick mud - nah - not enough tread block depth. I'm in the Northeast US so deep sand is not common - we do have the NJ Pine Barrens which does have some deep "suguar" but I just skirt them without problems. Could I go down the middle and work the bike through? Yeah, probably, but Why? If you do 50 - 70% road and want to explore some dirt or grave roads (and they are different IMHO) - this is the perfect tire. Wanna do gnarly offroad - look at the myriad 50/50 options. Loved your review!

Why is it normal that a bike with new chain and sprockets has difference in tension at some points. I can't really wrap my head around that. Could someone explaain that to me?
@ruffleschips905525 күн бұрын
Just soak chain with kerosene. Then scrub with nylon brush. Then wash away loose dirt with generous amount of kerosene. Wipe off excess. Then spray with whatever lube you prefer. The trick is more in cleaning it often, than which lube you use. Once the chain or sprockets show excess wear or too much stretch or tends to kink, just replace it. It's cheaper to replace the chain more often than necessary, than to break down a hundred miles from home. If you are too lazy to clean a chain often, get a belt drvie or shaft drive.

I have a 2009 Suzuki Bandit 1250S with a Zero Gravity wind shield gives me that buffeting. Also I have a 2023 Kawasaki KLR 650 with a Zero Gavity and along with the way the KLR fairing is it gives me almost perfect wind protection. So yes fairings can make the difference.

I just sprayed lube and didn't like the result. I've purchased regular gear oil for my next attempt. However, after spraying it this time, I still didn't get the desired outcome. The process was very messy, and some chemical smell gave me a headache. I'll try using the normal gear oil next time instead.

Faltou-me a costa Norte e Este...

Cleaning chain with pressure washer WILL bypass O-rings and wash out factory grease inside the chain.And that's game over for the chain.Secondly,I ride bike mostly on my knee and I'm kind of scared that this oil will spray on the edge of the tire...and that's game over for my ass.Travellers and sportbike small dick street racers (like me😁) are not the same...in terms of lean angle.I don't know,I'll try.Maybe you're right 👍

Owned an MT09 and my gf has the MT07. Right now I am on a Hornet 750. Why did I sell the MT09? Because the gearbox was horribly clunky, the clutch basked made all sorts of squeaking noises, the cam chain tensoner was fine but still made a rattle. It was simply put, not a very quiet and enjoyable engine (apart from the power and exhaust sound). The MT07 is miles better. It sounds like it will bever break down. The MT07 engine is silly frugal on fuel aswell. It's quite possilbe to drive it on 0,28 liters/100km. We have. If I was seriously thinking about touring this is a viable option. If I had more cash I would get a Suzuki 1000GT but that is not in the same bracket.
