I read something about using pipe tape on intakes and to use the paint-on style ptfe instead cus pieces can come off and get sucked in ur engine

That may be possible, I was pretty meticulous when putting it on and trimmed any excess with a blade.

4:28 the part closest to the camera venting to the left of the screen. I have that on my 135i too. Is that the stock blow off valve? I can't seem to find a description for it online. Kind of a moot point anyway but I'm curious.
@seanwilks771211 ай бұрын
The stock setup uses diverter valves to recirculate the air back into the system, a BOV releases the air into the atmosphere.
@autoSRI5 жыл бұрын
You blow off valve is staying open on idle looks like you need a stiffer spring
@Kordare5 жыл бұрын
Apparently it is supposed to be open at idle for this specific engine from what I've read, I could be wrong though.

@@Kordare ,i thought its closed and only opens to expel (those springs gotta be suited to application no point of venting at 8 psi when your tune may be 12-16 or as high as 25psi capable) , anything is better than the stock platic affair tho....,i was using 2x 25mm vw diverter/bov dual port you achieve the same sort of sound,but stock 335is you wont hear it so much,

I’ve had a slight misfire after installing charge pipe and BOV with Dual Cone Intakes , do anyone know why? n54 engine . no tune
@Kordare4 жыл бұрын
n54 is known for misfires, mine did it too. There are a lot of things it could be, plugs, carbon buildup, vanos solenoid, etc. If it happened after installing this, check for boost leaks.

You'd have to get a pipe that has a flange for an hks bov

Yes, it would work. The flange is the same and will work for both BOV’s…they just connect differently.

Is the blow off vale necessary?
@Kordare5 жыл бұрын
No not really, it just simplifies the setup in this case.
@jazmynravae2 жыл бұрын
does your car have to be boosted/turbo to have a BOV ? or can i just have air intake with bov only ?
@Kordare2 жыл бұрын
No you need to have a boosted car to have a bov. The purpose is to release the excess pressurized air when the throttle plate closes. So there would be no purpose without boost.

I ended up putting the charge pipe in place but not attached to the throttle body, then put the coupler in. Its tight but you should be able to flex it enough to get it in.

You’re using the stock 1/8 vacuum reference on the intake manifold?

Yeah I reused the one that splits and goes to the two diverter valves
@davindraboodoosingh47224 жыл бұрын
Kordare At some point later down the road I’d recommend you cap the 1/8 which is just behind the throttle body on the intake manifold and use a true 1/4 reference. Either by tapping into the manifold or getting the brake booster adapter from bms (which coms with everything you need) You’ll definitely notice a difference.
