My thoughts on the unique weapon names: In Fallout Shelter, Ol Painless’s description says that its used to put down horses, so its possible its high damage output is just a reference to how fast it kills that the enemy barely feels any pain. The Victory rifle is probably just called that because its victorious in most combat encounters. For a funnier explanation, the target getting knocked down couldve made the previous owner believe he was victorious when in reality the fight wasnt over yet. Vengeance probably has nothing to do with the enclave or the deathclaws, and its powerful nature it just that of getting revenge on people. Smugglers end is definitely a weird one, but it couldve also been taken from a smuggler, referencing the end of a barrel.

11:00 - The "Ignore Damage Resistance" effect has been broken since 1.5 patch, so unless you're playing an unpatched disk release or TTW with JIP NVSE addon it's won't be any better than a normal Auto-Axe.

This is the first time I’ve ever seen a video by you more than 2 minutes. Weird but cool!

First time I'm seeing a lore video about a game in which has gore censored. Also it could be nice to hear how these weapons sound in game. Nevertheless, it's a good video.

Paul’s revolver, is also a unique model besides not having a scope, look closely and you’ll see the cylinders are not the same. Paul’s is enclosed and you can’t see the .44 rounds while it’s in the gun, where as all the other .44’s you can see the casings of the rounds in the game.

I've been playing this game off and on for years and I haven't heard of 75% of these special weapons. It's insane just how much replay value you can find in an old game from 2008.
@abrahamwashington8579 Жыл бұрын
Obviously your not playing the game right cuz literally 90% of the weapons are found during exploration or quest items.

i wonder if the creation of the miss launcher is what led to grenade launchers being in new vegas? seems like a very obvious throughline since its not like 3 had grenade launchers. they just took that code and made it a cool weapon
@passingrando6457 Жыл бұрын
There technically *is* a grenade launcher in Broken Steel's files, but it's just a combat shotgun that fires frag grenades.

1:00:15 Smuggler's End is a play on "Smuggler's Run", an asteroid field used for an illegal race Han Solo brags about completing in record time/distance with the Millenium Falcon. the weapon is a laser pistol, not unlike the standard weapon of stormtroopers, IE Law Enforcement, and as such, the inevitable end to a smuggler's run in the mind of the law, since smugglers are usually outlaws and often executed by way of firing squad/gunfight. note that han solo is cleared of his crimes after defeating the empire and getting with leia, but throws away his cushy legal desk job to run off and be a smuggler again, IE once a smuggler always a smuggler. not unlike how blackbeard gave up his cushy high society life to go back to pirating, or how robin hood was supposedly pardoned by the king, but went back to banditry afterward anyway. elder lyons is brotherhood of steel, IE arguably the law in the wasteland by sheer monopoly of tech/firepower, and his particular variation of the order is focused on protecting the wasteland by clearing out supermutants, ghouls and raiders/slavers more than it's tech-hungry main mission statement, that last group often being akin to "smugglers". from Lyons perspective, han solo would be a criminal, harboring/concealing valuable tech, violating what little excuse for law there is, and potentially endangering the civilians.

Bing, Bam, Boom? Did N_orte REALLY have to reference Stucky from Law & Order: SVU during the Occam's Razor discussion? Nicely done, lad. Nicely done. That's an incredibly deep refernece.

Naming your weapons in fallout 4 was a good idea. I loved making custom weapons with unique names.

I always assumed Vampire's Edge was a Blade (movie) reference, as it came out in 1998, 10 years before FO3. In the movie, Blade is a half-vampire and famously slays full vampires with a katana. Sometimes people call it the sword of the daywalker, in reference to him being able to walk under the sunlight, unlike all other true vampires. With the FO3 "vampires" just being human, they too can walk under the sun.

I thought board of education was just a play on words “Bored of Education” how a lot of kids feel in school but the paddle reference works too. Highwayman’s Friend kinda all goes back to Mad Max

The reason why Butch's toothpick has less durability is actually revealed in prologue section as it is revealed that Butch's toothpick originally was a spring-loaded switchblade. James and Jonas took the spring from the switchblade to use it for the BB gun you get during the prologue in that you can use during your escape a vault 101 since the spring had been removed you have to manually open the toothpick every time therefore damaging the mechanism therefore making it less durable than a normal switchblade. The increased damage makes sense in this context as well since it's been in a vault and is obviously sharpened in comparison to all the other switchblades in the wasteland it makes sense that it has more damage as well because sharpening a blade makes it deal more damage.

19:25 in fallout 76 they have a perk called tenderizer and it gives 5% damage increase every time you hit something, i feel like its a reference but maybe not because tenderizer is a fairly common word i guess
