UPDATE: Instead of getting the basetune from the SpeedyEFI website, head to the SpeedyLoader github (linked below) and install that. You can then update your ECU firmware to the latest version and they have bundled a MUCH better base tune, specific to each firmware version.

All the basic settings your NA Miata will need to start and run on a SpeedyEFI ECU. Everything from IAT sensor calibration to correct engine fueling. You'll be good to go in no time.

@@skyyguyy27 I think they removed it from their website. Download and get SpeedyLoader setup. It’s a tool that lets you install new firmware onto the ECU, and they also have the base maps on there. So give it a shot

I still have yet to re-setup my speedyefi but compared to cashedoutcars video this one is in better detail than his because you also tell me the specs for 1.8. I had tried starting up my car watching his video and the car was making a humming sound and everything I hope your video helps me. I do have a question though, for the 1.6 you have to take the fuel pump fuse out, do you have to do that for the 1.8? because the paper I got did not tell me anything about that.

Yes! The ST Sign fuse stays out as long as you’re running an aftermarket ECU.

Download SpeedyLoader. Update your ECU to the newest firmware and grab that base tune. It’s MUCH better.

Hey man so I got a turbo miata with the SpeedyEFI ecu and rx8 injectors. When the engine is warm and idling, it turns off and I need to start the car again. This keeps happening until the engine cools down then a couple of seconds later when the engine idles when warm, it dies. How do I solve this?

Warmup enrichment and afterstart enrichment. This is something I constantly struggled with. If you sit at idle in the summer, even with IAT correction and retardation, it still didn't like to idle very well. But for hot starts, especially after sitting shut off for a few minutes when the fuel in the rail is super hot, having afterstart enrichment run for like 2 minutes will help get fresh "cool" fuel in the rail.

Warm up enrichment or after start enrichment needs adjusting, likely the latter.

Hey man I'm having the same issue with the idle bouncing once it gets warm, what did you do to fix this? Did you just turn on VE analyze live and let it sit at idle until it was fixed?

Yep! Don’t use the basetune off of the Speedy website, it’s really far off and needs a lot of work to get it driveable. Go to SpeedyLoader, download the newest firmware and grab the base tune they bundle with it. Much better.

No idea, I don’t have AC. With closed loop idle and idle advance, I don’t see why it would be a problem.

Does the base tune drive fine? I installed the Ecu in my 1.6 and don’t know if I have to do any extra tuning, I plan on getting it actually tuned when I put the turbo in but can I cruise with the base tune?

Depends on where you get the base tune… If it was off the SpeedyEFI website, no. It’s as base as base tunes gets. If you flash to the newest firmware via SpeedyLoader, they have bundled base tunes that are pretty decent.

AFR table being incorrect. AFR gauge not installed. AFR gauge not accurate in TS. Custom filters turned on. Lots of things

do you have the key in the ignition for calibration?

The ECU does need power. Some people wire a switch so they can toggle ECU power, but I did not. I let the ignition handle cycling power, so yes, I had my key in the ignition.

Nope, you definitely dont NEED to, but it's a good idea to set it anyways and mark your CAS with a sharpie. That way you always have a good reference point for timing so if the belt slips or something, you know the CAS adjustment isnt the issue.

Switch out my ecu to speedyEFi. But when I’m driving I can’t rev the car higher than 2500rpm the car start to burp and I have to switch gears but does it in all gears. Have any ideas to fix? I tried the auto tune but doesn’t change any cells

Did you grab a base tune off the SpeedyEFI website or from SpeedyLoader? The latter is MUCH better at updating the base tunes. Start there. It could be an ignition problem or maybe you have a boost limit set.

Did you ever figure it out? Mine does the exact same thing, idle bumping a lot and won't rev past 2500rpm. I havn't done much fiddling to fix it but I'm wondering if you ended up finding a fix

@@NickVillecco @@NickVillecco Itsbeen a while since I fixed it but yes I did. I believe the revving past 2,500 thing was because launch control was always on and just watch some "tunerstudio idle tutorials"

Nope! The car is turbo’d now, but this video was on a naturally aspirated car.

Did you buy the "harness" from SpeedyEFI that connects the vTPS to the factory connection? I know some people have had issues with the wires not being correct so the ECU can't see the sensor.

@@yaaaserrr Hey, Had to have my board replaced from SPeedyefi because my TPS also wouldn't read. It was a bad board. They replaced it for free.

@@Wrathzzw30 Cold starts are the worst. I still haven't dialed mine in yet. Under Cranking Settings, set the timing advance to around 4 degrees. Crank it for a couple seconds and see what it does, while monitoring your gauges in TS. I'd you have insane amounts of pulse width, 20ms+, it's likely you have too much fuel. Put the pedal to the floor, and crank again, it should be in "flood clear" mode and won't inject any more fuel. If it starts after that, you know you have too much fuel, need to dial that back. If it still won't start, give it about half throttle, see if it just needs more air. Like I said, cold starts are NOT easy. I've been messing with mine for weeks, and it's better but still won't start like stock.
