Day 2/Final Day of IVT! Good luck to all teams playing today! I'll be cheering a little extra hard for teams RVL and MST since I have friends on those teams, so I apologize if I am biased towards them.

IRT to MST - genuinely while they may have done goofy picks, they still played somewhat seriously. The thief emoting was still highly unprofessional imo, it's not Sprintzer's fault that they lagged and that it wasn't handled well by the organizers. In the end, they are in it for the fun and love of IDV and I can't blame them for losing morale after lag. Especially going against a now professional team with TWO dedicated analysts/coaches afaik since OMNI's switched to RVL. I still enjoyed watching the games, at least we get some variety unlike other regions who feel very formulaic to me. The mistakes that happened were unfortunate to see in a tournament but at the end of the day, the majority of NA/EU is hobbyists and I think that's charming.

some thoughts as I am finally able to catch up on this: 1) Its terrible that not only was everyone lagging in the RVL VS MST match, but for the ref to only pause AFTER the prisoner got downed when everyone saw him just standing still sucked immensely. 2) whoever told MST to just toss in the towel deserves 999 ping for the next month in every match they have going forward. Every team in this tourney trained for a long hard time to get to this point to showcase their skills, they all deserved a fair fighting chance. 3) GGs to Santi!!!! I like how easy he was taking it even with the lag. I'm just kind of sad they kept swapping him out. I would've love to see more of him playing hunter V RVL 😢 4) "This isn't a rank hunter this is Sprintzer" Netease nerf Sprintzer challenge, he's unstoppable 😭(That gamekeeper Match was W I L D, I have no words) 5) Persica clown terrifying NGL 6)THE SHADOW MESSING UP OH MY GOD, THAT WAS SUCH TERRIBLE LUCK I FEEL SO BAD Those matches were really good to watch, GGS to all the teams!! next is COA so hopefully they kinda learn from this and maybe fix the ping so no one has any issues

Despite what happened to MST it was very unfortunate, but they stuck out until the end. I’m proud of both teams and it was still a great watch! as much as i feel bad for MST and will still show my respect for all teams participating, that last match with hell ember kinda irks me especially,, if persica lost his moral and planned to throw, he should’ve at least let santi play to at least give it his all nonetheless they still worked out to get it this far, just disappointing and kinda disrespectful as someone practicing and training a lot to become competitive just unfortunate how everything happened but definitely could’ve been handled better i hope mst takes a break and comes back when they’re ready

Yeah I was also so disappointed and still am in MST. And I also think that game with the lag would be a 4k regardless. It is really unfortunate when the lag happens in tournament but still they were not even that far behind and it was just the first round..

Not giving up can give even the small chance of a 1 escape. Thinking it would have been a 4k regardless is just unfair and trying to justify the refs poor care about the tournament and their players. A kite 10 seconds longer can turn a match of a loss to a tie or even a win, every single second counts. And all that reduced to nothing bc of ping issues. The refs didn't listen when they should've. If they would have won or not is a chance that we didn't get to fully know bc MST got unfair treatment. I think RVL is an amazing team and they won for a reason!! But MST did not deserve the treatment they got and stuff like that can definitely matter when it gets to the final point count. Blaming on them for giving up in something were points matter SO. SO MUCH isnt it tbh. Dont blame it on them, blame it on the refs for not caring and not taking this seriously. Nothing of this would happen if they listened sooner and did a match reset. Its not that hard. Ppl work nonstop for getting in to tournaments only to them to get disrespected by the refs. Reminder there's a PRIZE and ppl dont live out of air. They need every single change they got.*

It’s sad to see how many ppl are upset that MST was trolling or being ‘disrespectful’ to teams that didn’t make it, they aren’t responsible for other people’s feelings and who knows, the other teams may have found their trolling funny as well, the emotes are put in the game to use just like how sometimes the players in tournaments use graffiti, in the end it’s all just a game, congrats to both teams for great games!!

In the case of a tournament, it's not quite "just a game". You win prize money for how far you place so thousands of $$$ are at stake. Prize pool is shown at the start of the stream at 09:31. I'm sure plenty of teams would have loved to win over 2k despite lagging and have given it their all to the bitter end. The point of a tournament is to perform at the highest level you can and showcase your skills. To throw a temper tantrum is spitting in the faces of all the other teams that practiced hard and tried their best. Lag isn't fair and Netease REALLY needs to address their ping and moderation issues. But they will never take NAEU seriously or want to offer more prize money in future tournaments if this is the behaviour coming from top-level players. If the point is to give prize money to have players showcase their skills, and a 2nd place team getting $2,500 from them will just throw, emote, and joke around, Netease is not going to want to waste more money or invest in NAEU.

@@fatesmirage No worries, because in general I agree about emotes. In a quick match, or even rank matches, I personally don't think emotes are a big deal and can be pretty funny. And that the community shouldn't take them seriously or get aggrivated if they're used during a QM, rank, or any of the other game modes. I'm in agreement that players should use emotes and graffiti and play whatever characters they want jus cause it's fun. Just not in a tournament setting. I've played meme games with friends before where we went 4 gardener comp and spent most of the game breaking chairs and emoting but managing to get 3 out. It was hilarious. But that was just a game. If my team was getting paid 2k and thousands of people watching us, I'd be more careful about my behaviour and would consider how my actions would reflect the server as a whole.

If it were a QM or even a rank match where I was watching a streamer/youtuber, I'd agree emoting and meme picks could be funny and really entertaining to watch and not that big a deal. But this is not a QM or rank match where you can have a temper tantrum or be "silly willy teehee 🤪🥴" with no consequences. This is an official tournament where teams get prize money for how well they do. They get MONEY for playing as best as they can. They are literally being paid to showcase how skilled they are. The purpose of tournaments is to play as seriously & at the highest skill level you can. An official tourney is not the appropriate place for shenanigans and jokes (especially at the expense of other players and viewers). The emoting was rude to Sprintzer, the casters, the staff, and even to us...cause it showed they don't care about having the viewers see high-level gameplay where teams try their best. It's wasting our time and the prize money. It was also so disrespectful to the teams who lost earlier brackets who trained really hard to get as far as they could in the tournament. Many of those teams would have been so proud to reach 2nd place (and earn the larger 2nd place cash prize) for their hard work.

that one mst survivor match really left a bad taste in my mouth. it's not only disrespectful to rvl but also to the other opponents who didn't make it to the finals. especially since they could have rebounded, they were only 3 points behind which is not that bad, but they purposely decided to not even try. their behaviour was straight up offensive. lag was for sure a major issue, but i think they wouldn't have won even without that, and i'm pretty sure they were aware of it. the gap of skills is just too big, and that's normal since rvl has been in tournaments for years. this time throwing the matches was just an excuse to lose without taking any responsibility of any mistakes they could have done if they played it fair. lag is a major issue in this game and if we want netease to fix it we can't just give up and throw a whole final. i think if they put effort in the matches netease would have acknowledged it and realized how it destroyed a whole tournament's final. but, since they didn't even try, now netease just saw some petty survivors wasting their occasion to win, not because of the ping, but because they straight up threw. this is not an hate comment, i don't wanna make drama or attack santi and his teammates, i just wanna share my opinion hoping this will make them think twice before doing such things again, especially in a tournament. the disrespect was crazy and it will just put na/eu on a bad light in netease's eyes.

It's understandable that you feel that way, but they have their reasons; it's not something they did just because. The fact that lag has always been a problem in tournaments doesn't make it any less important. Lag has always existed, and NetEase almost never did anything about it. It was time for the players to stop being trampled on. MST worked very hard to make it to the finals; they played against RV for 3-4 hours, which obviously leads to mental fatigue. It would also have been nice if NetEase had changed the final date so that MST could rest. But saying that it was obvious that with or without lag they wouldn't win is very rude; you never know what might happen, and MST is a complete and very good team. They could easily have stood up to RVL. I think we need to put ourselves in the shoes of the MST players and understand them, and also wait for clear information on what happened. ^⁠_⁠^

You know what I sat down at around 5:06pm July 14th to watch this livestream i seriously thought “they’re just 3 sets! Surely it will be over sooner than yesterday”… Almost 9 hours is crazyyy But I’m not complaining, it was a big learning experience for all I think, hopefully 😭😭 I’m just really thankful for everyone , zeez, his mods, his friends, the competing teams, and commentators for making it the best experience it could be.
