മാഷേ, എൻ്റെ ഒരു സംശയമാണ്. ശൂർപ്പണഖ തിരസ്കാര വ്യഥയിൽ കോപിച്ച് സീതയെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചപ്പോളല്ലേ അവളെ രാമലക്ഷമണൻമാർ ഉപദ്രവിച്ചത്? ശിക്ഷ കുറ്റത്തിന് ആനുപാതികമായിരുന്നില്ല എന്നത് തെറ്റ് ഒരു പക്ഷേ അങ്ങനെ ഒരു നീതി സങ്കല്പം അക്കാലത്തുണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല എന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു. ജാതിയും വർണവും നീതിന്യായത്തെ വല്ലാതെ സ്വാധിനിച്ചിരുന്ന ഒരു കാലമാണല്ലോ ഈ കഥകളുടെ പശ്ചാത്തലം. ഇക്കാലത്ത് പോലും ജാതിക്കും മതങ്ങൾക്കും പ്രത്യേകം പ്രത്യേകം നിയമങ്ങൾ വേണമെന്ന് ആളുകൾ വാദിക്കുന്നു ണ്ടല്ലോ. ശൂർപ്പണഖ ബുദ്ധിമതിയും നല്ല നയചാതുരിയുള്ള ആളുമായിരുന്നു തനിക്ക് സംഭവിച്ച അംഗഭംഗത്തിന് ഹേതുവായി അവൾ രാവണനോട് പറയുന്നത് ലോകൈകവീരനായ രാവണനു വേണ്ടി അതീവ സുന്ദരിയായ സീതയെ തട്ടിയെടുക്കാൻ പോയി എന്നാണ്. എൻ്റെ അറിവ് തെറ്റാണെങ്കിൽ അറിവുള്ളവർ ദയവായി തിരുത്തുക
