Professor Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for a short and exciting video/lecture on How to predict the products of the reaction between Sodium Carbonate and Hydrochloric Acid in AP/General Chemistry. This is a well-known reaction in Chemistry. This is an error free video/lecture on KZbin TV with the Organic Chemistry Tutor.

Does the OH- conc increase to maintain Kw by shifting ( H20 -> H+ + OH- ) to the right to make more H+? Thus overall OH- conc increases and net H+ ion con has decreased by being consumed mostly by the carbonate ion? So the pH increase .....

But how do we do that this will be a double displacement reaction in the first place?
