Hey Esteban, I got really excited when I saw this, but now read a message on Reaper forum casting doubt over the future of this tool. What are your plans for it? If you no longer plan to develop it, is there potential for open sourcing it (I read there is some proprietary closed code in a .dat file?). I've done a fair bit with music programming (Reaper extension using machine learning written in C) and I'm a professional software engineer with TONS of scripting experience, and would love to help. Let me know!

Wish I had read this comment before I spent time installing this. It looks cool, but I can't seem to get the manual mode working correctly with a midi foot pedal. Assigned pedal cc to "Script: Nabla Looper Manual Trigger Actions.lua" as Esteban does in the video, but it doesn't seem to actuate anything. Video for version 1 has you assigning the pedal to Script: "Nabla Looper Manual Take (Start_Stop Recording).lua" When I did that, it would actuate recording, but there was a lot of latency. Oh well. Hope it gets picked up again. Interesting project.

Hi Esteban, Great looper scripts, and Version 2 installation explanation is very thorough. But it's very light on how to use it. I had to go back to the version 1 video to understand how to use it. Perhaps you could record a detailed video of how to use version 2, or just reload the second part of your version 1 video (arranged and manual modes / after installation). Thanks, Daniel.

Hey Esteban, this is a great Plugin, but after installing it I ran into a problem: After recording the "Record Item" and hitting the trigger button the first beat of the first playback item which comes directly after is completely silent for approximatly half a second, after that it starts playing the recorded playback items normally as it should. It seems like Reaper is taking half / quarter a second to load the recorded midi sequence into the playback items, skipping a beat in the process. Am I doing something wrong here or is Nabla Looper just too old to work nowdays?

Hi This is EXACLY what I was looking for!! I will definitely make a donation. One quick question. Everything is working well, except when recording, there is alway a glitch after the ending of the recording block. The audio jumps for half a second. This is only noticeable during the live performance. If I lienten back to the recording, all is good

Hello. Thank you for nabla looper, but I have one problem. I record drums on a midi track using an electronic drum kit. And if I use hi-het with a pedal, the reaper freezes. This happens only 50% of the time. He writes audio signals without any complaints, if you do not use hi-het, everything is ok too. With normal drum recording (no nabla looper) also no problem. Can you suggest something?

THANK YOU for this plugin Esteban...its a God sent especially since ZenAudio shutdown....I followed the instructions to the tee till setting the shortcuts for actions...But after that when I created a new track, the delay was not preset. Also I could not figure out how to set the record and Loop regions....I new to reaper, so excuse my Noob question.

I'm having the same issue with the delay not being present on midi tracks. It makes them not play properly after recording. Any ideas Esteban?

The delay only loads when the Nabla Looper is activated and disappears when playback is stopped. I'm preparing a new version where this process is optimized.

Hallo Esteban! I´m having a problem with the manual mode - when I press the "start/stop recording" action to finish the loop, the Nabla ReaDelay Plug-in does note close and it keeps playing the signal with delay. Do you have some idea why this happens? Thank you!

For some reason when recording a drum beat with Addictive Drums there is a skipped note when the recording ends and the loop begins, if I play it back the note is there, I tried many things but could not find a fix

How does manual mode work, having trouble figuring it out

Hey, amazing script thank you for publishing it. I've been using manual mode but having some trouble. After I record my first guitar loop, I'd like to keep on monitoring that guitar, without necessarily recording it for the next loop. The way I can think of doing this is by stopping my first loop recording and simultaneously switching to another guitar track and pressing record to monitor that guitar (which will start recording in manual mode), and then if I don't want to add e.g a solo as another loop I can discard that take. Is this the best way to do this? Thanks.

make sure that your monitor isn't making a signal that can get recorded somewhere else, have had problems with that before

@@sahandr-d удалось решить. У меня имя пользователя было на кириллице - "Сергей". Из-за этого путь прописывался на кириллице, а плагин не поддерживает кириллические пути. Можете сделать следующее - создайте ещё одного пользователя на латинице. Установите скрипт в Рипере у нового пользователя. Всё заработает. В итоге я нанял программиста, чтобы переименовать пользователя и все пути в реестре. Мне это стоило 1000 руб. на кворке.

The delay hack only works for audio tracks, MIDI is faster to process, so I didn't think it was necessary to apply the delay trick, I rarely lose the first note of the playback, make sure to have enabled the option "Chase MIDI note-ons in project playback" under the options menu.

Tried also lowering the buffer time to 0s but it didn't seem to make much difference. So I guess the delay trick will be very much needed on MIDI tracks aswell. @@elhuis Hasta ahora sólo lo probé con pistas de audio. No tengo conectado ningún midi, intenté correr el script sólo activando las acciones directamente en la ventana (action list). Otra cosa que me fijé, es que en el video el pedal midi lo conectas a Manual Trigger Actions, en mi caso esta acción no hace nada. En la lista me apareció una acción llamada star/stop recording que al correrla comienza a grabar. La corro de nuevo y deja de grabar y comienza a duplicar el item, pero sin audio.

Yes, just enabled the option "practice mode" into the nabla settings or use the scripts for delete takes in the actions list, search for "nabla delete take" and assign a shortcut.

Hola Esteban, este plugin se ve realmente fantástico y creo es de las mejores propuestas ( de las pocas) para hacer presentaciones verdaderamente impresionantes, tengo window, y desafortunadamente no he podido instalarlo de forma correcta, he tratado de encontrar el error pero no he podido. soy principiantes en usar dow y todo lo que conlleva. Por alguna razón cuando ya esta todo instalado, y le doy a modo arranged, se desactiva "free item positioning" pareciera que tiene un glich a la hora de grabar, y la copia de la grabacion queda cortada en los primeros segundo, y al pausar queda error en los items. verdaderamente es una propuesta que tengo mucho deseo de usar. espero poder resolverla y poder seguir viendo tus creaciones, saludos desde Guatemala.

I can not finish step 2. While restarting reaper my mac says unable to open both dylib because the developer can not be verified and they can be malicious. Then reaper opens without the extensions menu.

Hola @@elhuis ! gracias por tu respuesta, me sirvió mucho para poder usar el Manual Mode. Te hago otras consultas :-), estuve usándolo y anda muy bien. Entendí que cuando selecciono un track y uso el atajo para grabar loop se graba y activa automáticamente el monitoreo para escuchar qué toco. Pregunta, es posible usar monitore antes de darle grabar? como para venir tocando y cuando algo se siente cómodo grabarlo. Después cuando quiero grabar un segundo loop en ese mismo canal el loop que grave recien en ese mismo canal no suena, c´mo si tomara el monitoreo de lo que estoy tocando sin reproducir lo recién grabado. Es posible habilitar monitoreo para el loop anterior? Y por último, cuando quiero usar el pedal de sustain como para activar grabar/parar el loop (lo asigné como recomendas a la función Script: Nabla Looper Manual Trigger Actions.lua) a veces anda y a veces no, por qué puede ser? Simplemente, no va el modo manual, o no sé ponerlo en marcha. en la V1 aparecen cuatro botones en la barra de herramientas y explicas lo que hay que hacer para loopear, y en la V2 aparecen sólo dos botones, pero no se explica como ponerlo a funcionar. Por más que he experimentado, no hay manera.

Se ha actualizado el modo manual (Nabla Looper B), ahora es más sencillo, primero ejecuta la acción "Script: Nabla Looper B - Start.lua". Para iniciar/detener la grabación de un loop usa la acción "Script: Nabla Looper B - Trigger.lua", puedes asignarlo a una tecla o un mensaje midi en la ventana de acciones. Debe estar seleccionada la pista donde se grabará el loop. También se incluye una acción para eliminar el último loop grabado "Script: Nabla Looper B - Delete.lua".
