Do you think the NAD C399 and Dynaudio would work well together? i was really looking forward to hearing this amplifier and tried the NAD C399 on some KEF ls50 meta's i didn't like the sound very much. it made the meta's sound harsh and bright. my Dynaudio emit 30's are quite laid back so i thought this combination might work well?

Yes - The C399 will run the Emit 30's nicely

WOOPS. The MDC' slots on the new C-399 are not backwards compatible. MDC-2 cards will fit, not MDC (1).

How would you compare it to the M10 V2? I feel like it's the closest competitor due to the similar price point once you add the BluOS module, but the C399 is way superior in terms of specs and internal build quality?
@TLPCHC Жыл бұрын
The M-10 sound better, cleaner, better timing etc. The C-399 goes a good chunk louder

@@TLPCHC thanks for the fast reply! That is actually surprising to me, as I've only read opposite opinions online so far. However, I assume that the master series is overall built better

A lot of great things have been said about the predecessor, the C390dd, yet I have had a lot of issues with it throughout the 9 years I have owned it until it has collapsed. I don’t care about the use of master series components if it is not durable. Although on paper this device looks nice, I am hesitant to buy it as a replacement having to sink 600 euros into it for repairs for it to keep breaking. Unfortunately unboxing videos of first month reviews don’t get to test its lifespan. The stores will tell you all digital devices will be less reliable than an analogue amp, yet my old Marantz SR4600 is 8 years older and has outlived the NAD top end non-masters device with no repairs required at all.

Hi W van. The C-399 is not designed to directly replace the C390. That said, sorry to hear you had issues with the C-390dd. It was NAD's first digital hybrid amp.

I love the banana disclaimer. Reminds me when eons ago, a Audio store advertised prices in "bananas", but meant as dollars. Some guy came in with 200 bananas (the fruit) and they had to sell him the item he wanted that was priced at "200 bananas".

Is the power section similar to the power section of the NAD C298 power amplifier ?

Technically - Yes and probably a nice match.
