I don't use pretentious language, I keep HiFi inclusive by keeping technical details on a need to know basis, and I'm into strong creative production values too. It's all about music and HiFi doesn't need to be boring - this project has a long term aim to attract more people to HiFi by breaking down the alienation of HiFi but at the same time provide the useful information and comparisons for current Audiophiles.

I don't know how I only just discovered your channel!?! I'm chewing through all your of your video catalogue and I just had to stop and tell you how much I'm enjoying it! Thank You, Simon! I love how the KZbin Hi-Fi community is growing. Everyone brings their own unique perspective, and I really like yours. The videography is incredibly high quality and you do an excellent job of describing your experience with each product and explaining your conclusions. Your videos very much stand out with their quality and detail! Again, Thank You! Joseph Tongret - United States

Thank you very much Joseph. That is definitely the idea to make the videos of high production quality. I spend lots of time on Adobe after effects putting in the clip segments, and I want to make the videos more about music, as audiophile channels mainly forget this. The production quality has to reflect the enthusiasm because otherwise videos are boring and to get more people into hifi, you have to make the videos bigger than hifi. I’m still trying to get my presenting better all the time. Lots of audiophiles like the technical aspects in spite of music, I think, that’s perhaps why I haven’t got the numbers (yet!) but I think the technicality is a means to end for the music. I’m going to be doing more advice and experience videos which I’ve neglected, which has probably restricted my popularity, as so far I’ve been concentrating on the reviews. Best wishes simon

A good review which for some reason just popped into my feed. Since its three years old I'll add some additional insight from a long term owner. First, its the ideal core of a budget small room system assuming you mostly just want to stream. Its absolutely brilliant for that. DIRAC is well underrated and if you buy the license for the full version then you can control the way it sounds much more comprehensively. Then the issue of micro differences between one product and another, nerdy amp class differences etc are irrelevant. You just set it up how you want, job done. Need it to sound like a disco or concert hall or down the bottom of a well? Can do. I'm using PSB imagine mini's speakers high on a wall on their wall brackets with a PSB sub. PSB are also part of the Lenbrook family and the sub is NAD powered out of the box. The minis are small (mini, right) with unconventional placement and in conjunction with the sub, M10 and DIRAC, sound incredible. Honestly its a very neat trick how well this all works together in a fairly small room. None of this "for their size/for their price" stuff, they sound brilliant end of story. Is the the system to end all systems then? No of course not but it is as I mentioned a really good idea for a budget small room system, packing a lot of capability and performance into a small box. With a good set of speakers and a small sub and if the DIRAC is tuned properly its a hard act to beat.

Thanks so much for this "combo" review. I have been thinking about moving my KEF LS50 w (version 1) to another room since they remain annoyingly glitchy (the software, not the speaker component). But I need to be "careful," since I am disabled. I can't "do" big anything. It looks like this combination of stellar components is a win-win for me. Thank you for the careful and detailed review. And as a former professional flutist, I do appreciate the nod to cigarette papers (to dry pads).

Unless your room is sound treated (which is not cheap), this is the best amp to buy if you are looking to spend this kind of money. Dirac is going to make more difference to your music than almost any component I can think of. On top of that, this NAD has a treble to die for. It is extended and smooth. After implementing Dirac, the bass is in a different league to every other amp I've tried. I honestly feel that you cannot even get close to this performance for this price using other amps. Interestingly, Arcam and now Emotiva are offering Dirac Live on their products, so that will be an interesting comparison.
@13thnotehifireviews7
@13thnotehifireviews7 3 жыл бұрын
Room correction technology makes a lot more sense to me than room treatments (panels etc) so long as the room is decent, because we largely fit hifi around the room (or most do) and not the other way around, and accommodating panels into living rooms doesn’t meet the aesthetics test. I’m interested to see how the nad fares against a Steinway Lyngdorf.
@quitegenius
@quitegenius 3 жыл бұрын
@@13thnotehifireviews7 I’m curious about that too. I think Lyngdorf doesn’t let you adjust the curve or the curtain but has some presets so it really depends on how good lyngdorf presets work.

I have owed the m10 for about 3 months paired with a rel t7i subwoofer and triangle bro2 bookshelves. Great combo but being a budding audiophile I have been wanting to upgrade my bookshelf speakers. And since the meta came out I have had my eye on it but was worried about the m10 synergy. So this was a perfect review! Thank you! Quick question. I have a small room with big openings. Speakers can only be away from the wall about 12 inches and the speakers are about 7 feet from my listening position. Would the ls 50 meta still be a good combination being so close to the wall?
@13thnotehifireviews7
@13thnotehifireviews7 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for saying. I think they would be fine 12inches from the wall as remember the M10 has Dirac. If you can, move them about until you get best set up and as I said, if you’ve got an oblong room ideally place them facing into the longest side of the room. Bw.

Have you tried tethering with Ethernet cable. Kef wireless speakers do have some connectivity issues sometimes. I found with lsx. Is it between the speakers or connecting to internet/network? The m10 is absolutely faultless. Wakes up with Roon or playing via bluOS app.

I know it might be a little late since the video is over 1 year old but I didn't get the PMC vs KEF thing. I have PMC Wafer2 speakers which are obviously different to the bookshelf Twenty5's seen in the video but I'm thinking if M10 would be a good match for them? Did you mean that M10 won't sound good as it's not analogue/class D perhaps? Or am I overthinking here?

It was a while ago so I can’t remember what I said now, I’d have to watch it again, but I think I was making the point any speakers that are a little toppy, with class d you should consider speaker matching.
